  3. Thanks for purchasing this CD!

  5. All programs are divided into folders on this CD.  
  6.  
  7. KIDPAK SOFTWARE FOLDER - Contains the majority of
  8.  Early Learning programs.  
  9.  
  10. CYBERPETS FOLDER - Contains various programs featuring 
  11.  animated pets that will interact with your child on your
  12.  computer desktop.  Most of them need to be taken care of
  13.  (fed, etc.) and is a great way to introduce your child to
  14.  the responsibilities of caring for a pet.
  15.  
  16. DESKTOP THEMES FOLDER - Contains child-related themes for
  17.  your computer & also contains a program for changing them.
  18.  
  19. SCREENSAVERS FOLDER - Contains animated screensavers your child will
  20.  enjoy.
  21.  
  22. FOR PARENTS FOLDER - Contains useful programs to make your
  23.  life as a parent much easier!

  25. LET'S BEGIN!*****************************************************

  27. Every program folder on this CD has a README file that tells you
  28. (if info was available):
  29.  
  30.   Child's age the program was designed for 
  31.   Whether the program is freeware or shareware 
  32.   System Requirements for program and operating system (WIN 95/98, etc.)
  33.  
  34. Please read the README file before installing any program to be sure
  35. that you have the proper requirements on your computer for that 
  36. particular program!  Most will run on Windows 3.1, 95/98/NT.  Some will
  37. require more memory than others.

  40. STEP ONE:

  43. If DO NOT have WINZIP or another file compression program on your
  44. computer, please install the WINZIP Program included on this CD.  This 
  45. program is called "WINZIP70.EXE" and is very user friendly for those
  46. people who are new to UnZipping!  
  47.  
  48. Many programs are in "zip" format, which means they are compressed.
  49. You will need an "unzip" program to open up these files and install
  50. them on your computer.

  52. STEP TWO:

  55. After you have installed the Unzip program, use MY COMPUTER to 
  56. browse through the various programs on the CD.  When you have 
  57. chosen one, double-click on the icon that looks like a "VISE&FOLDER".
  58. This is a "zipped program".  WINZIP will automatically show you
  59. the files that are in the program, unzip them for you, ask you if you
  60. want to read the README file, then it will ask you if you want to 
  61. install it.  WINZIP will do it all for you automatically!

  63. In some cases (but very very rare), extra files or programs may be needed to use a 
  64. particular program.  You will find these files in the "NECESSARY
  65. FILES" folder on this CD.  (The README file will tell you what is 
  66. required for each program).

  68. STEP THREE:

  71. Install Programs that are NOT ZIPPED:
  72.  
  73. Double-click on the setup/install program icon in the program folder
  74.  you have chosen to install.  
  75.  
  76. It will either:
  77.  
  78.  Install itself, or Unzip and prompt you to install.  
  79.  
  80.  
  81. DESKTOP THEMES:
  82. If you don't have Windows 95 with Plus! or Windows 98, I have included a
  83. program that will install them and maintain them as well (Desktop Architecture).
  84. They will install when you double-click on them.  To change your
  85. theme, go to CONTROL PANEL and choose the Desktop Theme you just
  86. installed and click Apply (If you have Win98 or Plus!), or just use Desktop
  87. Architecture.

  89. Cyberpets and Screensavers will also either install automatically
  90. or unzip and prompt you to install.
