  17. This newsgroup is dedicated to providing sources for program which run
  18. on X.  If I determine that a posting should be handled in another group, I 
  19. will forward it to the moderator and inform the poster.
  20.  
  21. To make life easier for both me and the users of the comp.sources.x
  22. newsgroup, I will require that the following be included in postings.
  23.  
  24.     1.    Bourne shell commands to extract all the files - 
  25.         This means the postings should be in shar format.
  26.     2.    Source code - Fonts in bdf format are ok.
  27.     3.    A README file - This should be a brief description
  28.         of what this program does.
  29.     4.    An Imakefile and a standard Makefile named Makefile.std
  30.     5.    A manual page.
  31.     6.    A patchlevel.h -- This keeps track of how many official
  32.         patches have been applied.  When you send out a 
  33.         modification it should be in context diff format 
  34.         and it should update the patchlevel.h file.
  35.  
  36. If any of the above are not included, I will tell the poster and
  37. wait until they are included before I post the program.
  38. The following things should be included, but are not required yet.
  39.  
  40.     1.    A list of authors and their copying policy.
  41.     2.    filenames that are 12 or fewer characters long
  42.
