This is the second demo version of Eat The Whistle, a new, revolutionary, soccer
game.
Requirements
------------
- An Amiga with OS 3.0+ and at least 1MB of chip ram or a gfxboard.
- Suggested: 2MB of chip, 1MB of fastram, HD and AGA or GfxBoard.
Features
--------
- System friendly. Run on any amiga, also on clones, in multitasking.
- World cup, leagues, cups with real teams (with slightly modified names).
- Spoken comment (in the CD-ROM version).
- Works with gfx boards and also with AHI + sound cards.
- Time synchronized, faster CPU get faster framerate but not faster gameplay.
- Already implemented 0, 1 & 2 players mode, not yet ready but planned 3 & 4
players mode (via 4 joy adaptors or keyboard).
- Control via Joystick, CD32 compatible joypad (on joypad the control is
more advanced and very similar to the Playstation's ISSPro control),
two buttons joystick or keyboard.
- Very intuitive control method with acceleration/deceleration.
- More than 550 frames of animations for the players, 300 for the goalkeeper,
100 for the refree and a lot of other graphics.
- 30 different fields, including muddy, frozen and wet (actually only one
included in the demo version to contain the archive size).
- Fouls, corners, throw-in with an intuitive control system.
- Role playing. (You can play a match as the whole team or only as a
player).
- About every thing in the game is configurable via intuitive menus.
- Game Tactics and tactic editor.
- Heading and other special shots with intuitive controls.
- Team players (with individual stats) and team editor.
- Arcade-like actions for "arcade mode" (powerups, bonuses... something like
speedball II).
- Replays (with load/save option).
- A lot of stuff less intresting or that I don't remember at the moment :)
Playing the demo
----------------
This is a demo version, you can only play a single half-time of two
minutes in ONE player mode. (There is also a quite old two player demo
available)
IMPORTANT
---------
If you run ETW from a shell give it at least 10k of stackspace (with
the command: stack 10000)!
Controls:
JOYSTICK:
- stick: move your active player.
Run is actived after about a second of walking, when running your
control on the player is less responsive.
- fire:
(with ball)
long pressure: SHOT, CROSS, LONG PASS (depends from the field area)
short pressure: SHORT PASSING
(Without ball): TACKLE, HEADING...
- Leave the stick in central position to permit the active player change
JOYPAD (Not usable in the demo):
- pad: move your active player
- RED: shot
- BLUE: passing
- YELLOW: filtering passing
- PLAY/PAUSE: pause
- REVERSE: Change active player
- FORWARD: Run
KEYBOARD:
P - pause
ESC or Q - quit game
S - activate/deactivate radar
R - replay
X - Change radar position and dimension
SPACE - Change camera. You can have the camera on the ball or on each of
the 22 players. (during replay it saves the action to disk)
DEL - Place the camera on the ball.
Demo only:
left alt - Team 2: Activate/deactivate role playing.
left shift - Team 2: Change active player in role playing mode
right alt - Team 1: Activate/deactivate role playing.
right shift - Team 1: Change active player in role playing mode
Enjoy ETW!
Note
----
The game panels and texts may flicker if you run the game with CGX V3 on some boards. This is dued
to a bug in the CGX V3 doublebuffering routines. These problems are not present if you use Picasso96,
if you run the game on the WB screen or if you disable the double buffering in the video configuration
of the game (in the commercial version).
