  1. OS/2 fans embarking on Spring maintenance chores
  2. should stop by GEnie's OS/2 RoundTable where
  3. Software Library 25 is headquarters for the OS/2
  4. v2.1 Service Pak. The OS/2 RoundTable is an
  5. official distribution point for this set of files,
  6. each of which is an image of a 3.5" diskette. These
  7. diskettes update installed OS/2 system files,
  8. printer and display drivers, and are for full OS/2
  9. installations -- not for OS/2 for Windows. A
  10. Service Pak for OS/2 for Windows will be released
  11. later, with details posted on the OS/2 Bulletin
  12. board.

  14. The OS/2 Bulletin Board has over 30 categories
  15. where you can read and post messages regarding the
  16. latest news and rumors, hot tips and hints,
  17. technical questions and other pertinent
  18. information. This area is your resource for online
  19. technical support and on-going communication with
  20. other members of the OS/2 community, from users to
  21. vendors to independent developers and the press.

  23. In addition to the OS/2 2.1 Service Pak and other
  24. software updates and patches, the OS/2 Software
  25. Library is loaded with shareware and public domain
  26. programs and utilities. File 2346 SAFPAK15.ZIP is
  27. the 1.5 release of SafePak, an OS/2 aware disk
  28. defragmenter. It claims to safely defragment OS/2
  29. FAT systems. File 2443 CMDFLD13.ZIP is a Workplace
  30. class that replaces the WPFolder class shipped with
  31. OS/2 2.x. CMDFldr adds a sub-menu to each folder on
  32. the WPS and lets you start an OS/2 or DOS Window in
  33. the right path on the right drive. In addition, it
  34. asks for confirmation of the 'arrange' item, which
  35. is especially useful for the desktop.

  37. For a robust yet easy to use resource monitor for
  38. OS/2 v2.1 or later, try File 2442 PMP212.ZIP. PStat
  39. Window provides a wealth of information. It tracks
  40. free/idle memory, free disk space across multiple
  41. drives, overall CPU load, CPU per process and
  42. thread, drives online, active/inactive processes,
  43. print queues and more. Pstat Window is fully
  44. customizable and includes complete online help and
  45. several useful utilities.

  47. To help manage your fonts try FNTFLD.ZIP (File
  48. 2415). The OS/2 Software Library also has the
  49. latest McAfee anti-virus products for OS/2. At the
  50. this article was written, they were stored in File
  51. 2428 OSCAN112.ZIP (Scan for OS/2) and File 2427
  52. OCLN112.ZIP (Clean for OS/2).

  67. regularly scheduled conferences at 9:30 PM Eastern
  68. Time on four nights each week: OS/2 Help Desk on

  70. OS/2 discussion on Wednesday, and OS/2 Game Night
  71. on Thursday.

  98. plug-in for Windows' Clipboard Viewer that turns

  101. capture rectangular areas of the screen; capture
  102. screen objects (Windows and child Windows --
  103. toolboxes, toolbars, list boxes, buttons, and so
  104. on); capture an entire desktop or active Window;

  110. your desktop. AstroClock v1.0 for Windows (File

  112. continually updates and displays the positions of
  113. the planets in the Zodiac for the current date and
  114. time. User-configurable options include choice of
  115. Zodiac (tropical or sidereal with choice of
  116. ayanamsha), time zone, daylight saving time, and
  117. recalculation interval.

  122. Microsoft Word for Windows version 6.0? Head for
