  1.  NOVELL ANNOUNCES THE FIRST JAPANESE TRANSLATION OF NETWARE FOR MACINTOSH
  2.  Novell Japan Ltd. Announces NetWare Support for Macintosh

  4. WALNUT CREEK, California -- February 25, 1992 --  At MACWORLD EXPO/TOKYO
  5. last week, Novell Japan Ltd. announced the first Japanese translation of
  6. NetWare for Macintosh networking software.  Japan represents one of Apple
  7. Computer's largest international markets, and this translation will provide
  8. Japanese Macintosh users with a platform for communicating with other
  9. desktop computers on a NetWare network using their native language.

  11. "With the availability of the Japanese version of NetWare for Macintosh,
  12. our customers can integrate their Macintosh computers into their NetWare
  13. networks,"said Toru Sakai, development manager for Novell Japan Ltd. 
  14. "NetWare for Macintosh J enables our Macintosh customers to communicate
  15. with other network users and take advantage of NetWare's network services. 
  16. These services include sharing of resources, data and applications within a
  17. secure and reliable computing environment."

  19. The Japanese version of NetWare for Macintosh, v3.01J, runs as a NetWare
  20. Loadable Module (NLM) on the Japanese version of the NetWare operating
  21. system, NetWare v3.1J which first shipped December 20, 1991.  NetWare for
  22. Macintosh J will be available in 20-, 100- and 200-user versions.  The
  23. product is scheduled to ship this year and will be available only in Japan.

  25. "The Japanese translation of NetWare for Macintosh demonstrates Novell's
  26. commitment to integrating users of multiple desktop computers into the
  27. global network computing environment," said Steve Nelson, director of
  28. product marketing for Novell's Macintosh connectivity products.

  30. Novell Japan Ltd. is a joint venture between Novell, Softbank, Canon,
  31. Fujitsu, NEC, Sony and Toshiba, and markets and supports Japanese versions
  32. of Novell's NetWare products.
