  6. ViewFinder is a spreadsheet, data graphics application intended
  7. primarily for scientific uses.
  8.  
  9. It offers a comprehensive range of features for preparing X-Y charts
  10. of numerical data, together with associated text labelling, for 
  11. high-quality presentation purposes (overheads, 35mm slides, documents).
  12.  
  13. It has been in use by the author and colleagues for over 8 years, and 
  14. extensively in university research & teaching contexts. This is the 
  15. first version for Microsoft Windows.

  17. Requirements

  20. PC running Windows 3.1 or later.
  21. About 2 Mb disk space.

  24. Installation
  25. ============

  27. If you have obtained the .ZIP distribution file VFWxxx.ZIP, unzip this 
  28. in a temporary directory and run the setup program SETUP.EXE using Program
  29. Manager (Win 3.1) or Explorer (Win 95).

  31. After installation, delete the unzipped files from the temporary directory.

  33. If you are using a distribution disk, just run SETUP.EXE as above.

  39. Various demonstration files (DEMOxx.VF3) are provided to illustrate
  40. features of the program.

  42. Online help is available through the Help Menu when ViewFinder is 
  43. running. There is no printed manual.
