  2. MIDGET/32 - README.1ST

  5. Midget is a simple yet capable calculator, intended as a
  6. civilized replacement for the calculator included with Windows 95.
  7.  
  8. This is the 32-bit version, programmed for Windows 95 ot NT. For
  9. the "old" Windows 3.1 you will need MIDGET/16, the 16-bit version.
  10.  
  11. Midget is copyright ⌐ 1996-98 by J. Andrzej Wrotniak. The program
  12. is marketed as shareware: you are granted a trial license to use it
  13. for 30 days. After this time you have a choice between registering
  14. the program (purchasing a permanent license, $10) or removing it
  15. from your system. Details can be found in the Help file.
  16. CompuServe members can register on-line (GO SWREG).

  19. HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
  20.  
  21. Any computer capable of running Windows 95 will do. A color VGA or
  22. SVGA monitor is required. A mouse is supported but not really
  23. necessary.

  25. The program files need about 500k of disk space.

  28. INSTALLATION
  29.  
  30. Create a new directory (any name, anywhere), copy all Midget
  31. files to it. Done.
  32.  
  33. The program does not require any files not supplied in the
  34. distribution archive (except, of course, the standard parts of
  35. the Windows system). It does not create or modify any files
  36. outside of its own directory.

  39. DEINSTALLATION

  41. Delete the Midget directory with all the files inside it.

  46. The distribution archive contains the following files:
  47.  
  48. MIDGET.EXE   - the program file
  49. MIDGET.HLP   - the help file
  50. MIDG_DON.WAV -
  51. MIDG_ERR.WAV - two sound files
  52.  
  53. P08.FON
  54. T11.FON - screen font files
  55.  
  56. README.1ST   - the file you are reading now
  57. WHATS.NEW    - a list of recent changes
  58. FILE_ID.DIZ  - a brief program description in a standard format
  59. VENDINFO.DIZ - info for shareware vendors and BBS operators
  60.  
  61. The last four files are not necessary for the program operation
  62. and can be safely deleted after reading. The sound  files also
  63. can be deleted if you do not care for sound effects in the
  64. program. Do NOT try to delete or replace the font files!

  66. Upon registration one more file will be included on your disk
  67. or sent to you via email:

  69. MIDGET.KEY - your personal registration key file, recognized by
  70. program updates; this is the file you are not supposed to
  71. distribute under terms of the license.
