  16. INTRODUCTION
  17. Eight separate tools comprise HTML PowerTools for Windows. These
  18. are powerful HTML development tools for Windows, for use
  19. alongside your HTML or text editor. They include customizable
  20. offline HTML validation and link checking, HTML-aware search and
  21. replace, site-wide META tag management, automatic HTML file "last
  22. modified date" stamping, IMG tag automatic width, height, and ALT
  23. insertion, HTML to text batch conversion, and much more.

  25. While each tool is separate in purpose, many work together.
  26. They are intended to be used as a 'suite' of utilities to
  27. assist you - the HTML developer. Their primary purpose is
  28. to automate difficult or time-consuming tasks that you are
  29. now doing manually.

  35. INSTALLATION
  36. After unzipping the ZIP file you downloaded, run SETUP.EXE
  37. and follow the on-screen prompts.
  38.  
  39. It is important to close all running applications before
  40. running SETUP.EXE. Conflicts with open files can cause the
  41. installation to fail.
  42.  
  43. It is also important to note that some virus checkers
  44. prevent proper installation and startup of the tools. If
  45. you experience any problems during install or program
  46. startup, be sure to unload your virus checker and try
  47. again.

  50. UN-INSTALLATION
  51. To remove this application from your system, use Windows 95's
  52. Uninstall facility (Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs). If
  53. you manually delete the program directory before trying this,
  54. Windows will not be able to uninstall the other components.

  57. THE LAUNCH PAD
  58. In addition to the actual HTML utilities, Setup installs the
  59. HTML PowerTools Launch Pad. This handy toolbar provides quick
  60. access to each of the tools in the suite from one location.
  61. If you right-click any of the tool icons, you will notice the
  62. Stay on Top option - this will cause the Launch Pad to remain
  63. above all your other windows to make access to the tools even
  64. more convenient.
