  4. What does this program do?
  5. --------------------------
  6. This  is  a  server  program  combines both SMTP and POP3 functions on
  7. Windows  95. It works silently in the background so that you cannot
  8. feel it. You can use any mail client program you like, but remember to
  9. modify  the  SMTP  and  POP3 server settings of the mail client to the
  10. machine that this program is installed within.

  14. * Easy Installation. 
  15. * Provides both SMTP and POP3 ( RFC821, RFC1522 and RFC1725 compliant ). 
  16. * Creates mailboxes with friendly interface. 
  17. * Supports APOP secure login. Password could be encrypted in MD5 and sent 
  18.   over Internet. You must use mail clients that support APOP to utilize 
  19.   this new function. Eudora (lite and Pro ) and GNU Emacs support this function. 
  20. * Rejects huge message specified by administrator and prevents your system from the  attack of "message bomb." 
  21. * Rejects messages from specified email address and reduces junk mail. 
  22. * Every user can forward his message to specified email address. 
  23. * Limits the size of each mailbox. 
  24. * Automatically remove out-of-date messages. 
  25. * Supports multiple mailing list and public channel. 
  26. * Supports host alias. 
  27. * Supports automatic document responder. 
  28. * Coexists with firewall system.

  40. Limitations of Un-Registered Release

  42. The program will stop sliently after 15 days. During trial period, 
  43. only four additional accounts created by MailCenter could receive 
  44. messages. Only five people can subscribe your mailing list. If you 
  45. want to keep it, please read order.htm.

  47. Installation
  48. ------------
  49. Execute the setup program. If nothing wrong, the setup program will 
  50. automatically install the application.

  52. After installation, please reboot your computer to invoke this server.

  54. Enter Registration Information
  55. ------------------------------
  56. After received your registration information, please type:

  58. zeta reg
  59.  
  60. Please  following  the instructions to input registration information,
  61. and restart the program to take effect.

  63. After Installation
  64. ------------------
  65. You  can  execute  MailCenter to  setup  this  mail  server. After
  66. everything  is  prepared, set the SMTP and POP3 server to the computer
  67. where  this program is placed in mail reader program such as Netscape,
  68. Microsoft IE, etc. You can try to send a mail to

  70. Administrator@localhost

  72. to  check  if Zeta is working properly. You can also send a mail to me
  73. via this mail server.

  75. Uninstall the program
  76. ---------------------
  77. Type the following statement under command prompt:

  79. zeta uninstall
  80.  
  81. Next when you reboot the syste, Zeta will no longer be excuted.

  83. Special Notice for Windows NT
  84. -----------------------------
  85. If you plan to have a mail server on Windows NT, we strongly recommand
  86. to consider another famous product: Super Mail Transfer Package, which
  87. support more security functions of Windows NT and runs as a service in
  88. NT. The special designed kernel makes it a very reliable product. Many
  89. big  companys  install copies of Super Mail Transfer Package to handle
  90. huge  amounts of messages, even HP Taiwan provides Super Mail Transfer
  91. Package  as  an  alternative  to Microsoft Exchange. So, what are your
