  156. The installation procedure for LaunchPad is quite simple.  The
  157. package includes a program, "Setup.exe", which automates the
  158. entire process.  You will need about 1.2M of available disk space
  159. on the hard drive on which you plan to install LaunchPad.

  161. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  162. LaunchPad.

  165. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  166.  
  167. To install from diskette, you need to perform the following steps.
  168.  
  169.    o  Place the LaunchPad distribution diskette in the
  170.       appropriate diskette drive.
  171.  
  172.    o  Execute the "Setup.exe" program on the distribution diskette.
  173.       For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, type
  174.       the MS-DOS command, "a:\setup.exe".
  175.  
  176.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  177.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  178.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
  179.       program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy
  180.       the LaunchPad files to that directory. If you so direct it,
  181.       the installation program will install executable programs
  182.       and documentation in other directories of your choice.

  185. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE

  187. If you downloaded LaunchPad from the Internet (or received it in the
  188. form ofarchive files from some other source), you will need to perform
  189. thefollowing steps.

  191.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  192.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  193.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  194.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  195.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  196.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  197.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
