  21. 1. What will Uninstall Manager do ?
  22.  
  23.   When you install a new software (or when you run an existing software)
  24.   it can add new files to your drive and it can change your system files 
  25.   (Autoexec.bat , Config.sys,System.ini,Win.ini,System.dat,User.dat)
  26.   With Uninstall Manager you can safely remove unwanted software and you
  27.   can return your system to its original state.

  31. 2. Step By Step how to use
  32.  
  33.  Step 1: Start Uninstall Manager and take a snapshot of your drive with 
  34.    "Snapshot" button.
  35.  
  36.  Step 2: Backup your startup and registry files with "Backup System Files"
  37.    button. Now your system is ready for new installations.
  38.    (For boot drive step one and two will be done automatically at first
  39.    time running)

  41.  Step 3: Close Uninstall Manager and install anything that you want.
  42.    (Or run any program)

  44.  Step 4: To see new files that have been added to your drive since your last
  45.    snapshot. Start Uninstall Manager and press "Find New Additions" button.

  47.  Step 5: The panel on the left will show the folders and similarly the panel
  48.    on the right will show the files newly added to your drive. You can delete
  49.    files or folders that you select.

  51.  Step 6: Finally from system menu choose "Restore System Files" (or press
  52.    it's button) to turn your system to its settings before the installation.

  55. 3. Important Notes :
  56.  
  57.   -  If you can't delete a file that means file is in use by windows. To delete
  58.      this file, first restore system files and try to delete file again.
  59.  
  60.   -  Generally in changes panel you will see that user.dat and system.dat
  61.      checked, without installing anything, because Windows 95 uses and changes
  62.      these files frequently.
  63.  
  64.   -  Use slots for multiple snapshot and backups.Slot usage is like game saves.
  65.      You can save the last position of your system to any slot.Also you can
  66.      write a description for it.

  68.   -  Uninstall Manager can handle 60,000 files and 5,000 folders if you have
  69.      more on your drive. You need professinal version.Please ask for it.

  72. 4. Tools :

  74.     Check Overwrite : Some installations can overwrite windows system files
  75.     without notification. This cause your system to not work properly.With
  76.     " Check Overwrite " command in tools menu you can check these files for
  77.     any kind of change.
  78.     (Advice - Backup all system files. When one changed replace it with the
  79.      backed one)

  81.     Quick Clean : With this command you can delete temporary files to have
  82.     more harddisk space. (some temporary files : *.tmp , *.bak , *.old , ... )

  84.     Send to File : To save the file names that listed on the right panel for
  85.     future use.

  94.   Easy to use, fast and powerful uninstaller. The best way to check all new 
  95.   additions to your system without installation monitoring. Getting files
  96.   off of your system is a lot harder than installing them. I proved this by 
  97.   installing 3 small programs and then using Windows own uninstaller to
  98.   remove them. I then ran Uninstall Manager to monitor any changes in the
  99.   system which showed that the 3 programs had actually left 5 files behind. 
  100.   You can imagine how this can mount up over time! This program also showed 
  101.   up cookies that I had collected after a session on the net!!

  103.   TIP - If you want to delete individual files, highlight them and then
  104.   press 'Delete' on the keyboard. Using the 'Dustbin' will delete all added
  105.   files.

  113.   Uninstall Manager is a program that you can use to make sure that a 
  114.   program you install is completely removed from your computer. Although 
  115.   most programs come with their own uninstaller these usually don't remove 
  116.   everything that was installed when you installed the program. With other 
  117.   uninstall programs most of the time you have to keep the uninstall program 
  118.   running in the background so it can monitor the installation before it can 
  119.   completely remove the installed program also taking up valuable system 
  120.   resources The first time you start Uninstall manager it scans your hard
  121.   drive including the system files and makes a record of it. It is also a 
  122.   good idea to use uninstall manager's "Backup system files" too. Then close
  123.   Uninstall manager. Now after you install or run a program open Uninstall 
  124.   manager then click "Find new additions" and it will show you all the 
  125.   changes installing or running the program made. The directories are listed
  126.   on the left and the files are listed on the right. You can then Delete,
  127.   Delete This program is great and simple to use if you want to immediately 
  128.   remove a program after installation.

  132. 6. Configuring U.M.

  134.   These are the options (in file menu)

  136.   1- Send deleted files to recycle bin :
  137.   Recommended if you are not sure to delete files.You can use recyclebin
  138.   to restore deleted files.

  140.   2- Automatic compare at startup :
  141.   Check this option if you want to start checking new files operation when
  142.   ever you start Uninstall Manager.
  143.  
  144.   3- Show file icons :
  145.   Check this option to see icons of files that listed.This feature is not 
  146.   recommended because it slow down " checking new additions ".
  147.  
  148.   4- Don't list msie caches :
  149.   If you are using internet explorer as web browser,we recommend that check
  150.   this option.When this option is checked msie caches won't listed to you
  151.   and you wouldn't delete these caches.Because this caches are controlling
  152.   and managing by internet explorer's it self.To delete this caches can cause
  153.   slow down your internet surfing.However if you want to delete these caches
  154.   don't check this option to list the cache files.

  159.   Simply delete Uninstall Manager folder. and if exist delete U.M. 's
  160.   shortcut from your desktop.
