  5. INTRODUCTION
  6. ------------
  7. Windows 95 and NT are large and complex pieces of software with
  8. extensive features and capabilities.  Microsoft's primary goal
  9. is to focus on writing the code for these operating systems,
  10. documenation is not a high priority on its list.
  11.  
  12. These days, many people don't want to read a thick manual anyway,
  13. so it's Microsoft's intention that the operating systems should
  14. be "discoverable" without a manual, they let the user to figure 
  15. out how to use Windows on his/her own.
  16.  
  17. Even though some of the features such as high-color icons and 
  18. the ability to change the Recycle Bin icon, etc. can only be 
  19. done using add-ons such as the Microsoft Plus!  Most features 
  20. in WinWizard cannot even be accomplished with conventional 
  21. methods in standard Windows documentation or published in 
  22. many books about Windows.

  28. * Changes desktop icon sizes from 16x16 to 96x96.
  29. * Customizes "My Computer", "Network Neighborhood", "Recycle

  40. Run SETUP.EXE.  You will be asked to enter a folder to
  41. install WinWizard (default is c:\Program Files\WinWizard).

  45. HARDWARE/SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
  46. ------------------------------
  47. Computers running Windows 95/NT 4.0.

  49. WinWizard has been developed and tested on a 300 MHz Pentium II
  50. computers with 128 MB of SDRAM, a 4 MB SGRAM Diamond Viper 330V
  51. running Windows NT 4.0 workstation.

  53. It has also been tested on a Gateway 2000 P5-120 with 64 MB RAM
  54. running Windows 95 (SR2), and a P5-90 with 32 MB RAM running
  55. Windows 95 (SR1), both have S3 Trio64V+-based graphic boards.

  57. WinWizard has not been tested on any other platform because I
  58. don't have all the time and resources in the world.

  60. Therefore, if you don't have the above setups, I canot 
  61. guarantuee that WinWizard will work on your machine.

  65. DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SHAREWARE AND REGISTERED VERSION

  68. 1)  Changes desktop icon sizes from 16x16 to 96x96.

  70. 3)  Changes menu time delay.
  71. 4)  Displays bitmaps as icons in Explorer.
  72. 5)  Customizes the Recycle Bin icon.
  73. 6)  Customizes the Network Neighborhood icon.
  74. 7)  Removes/Restores Network Neighborhood icon.
  75. 8)  No "nag" screen (I don't believe in "nag" screen" ;-)

  93.     be qualified for substantial discount for the upgrade.

  95.     registered users are naturally given  more priority and
  96.     attention regarding technical support.

  100. REGISTRATION

  102. WinWizard is both freeware and shareware.  Freeware users may use
  103. it as long as they wish. But in order to use all of the above-
  104. mentioned functions, you must register to obtain the registered 
  105. version.

  109. PAYMENT TERMS
  110. -------------
  111. Registration is $14.  Registered users will receive the latest
  112. version through internet email (UUencoded or MIME-encoded). If
  113. you prefer to receive the software on 2 3.5" floppy disks, the
  114. fee is $19 (US/Canada/Mexico) or $20 (other countries).  As of
  115. this writing, I accept several payment methods:

  117. 1) Money orders, cashier checks, bank checks (MUST be drawn from 
  118.    U.S. banka).
  119. 2) Personal checks (MUST be drawn from a U.S. bank).
  120. 3) Register on-line via Compuserve and receive the registered
  121.    version within 24 hours of registration.
  122. 4) You can purchase the product on-line using Visa/MasterCard
  123.    from the Virtual Software store and receive the registered
  124.    version immediately after the transaction.  It costs a few
  125.    dollars more due to the overhead of secure electronic commerce:

  135. A single user license permits a user to use WinWizard only on 
  136. a single computer.  Licensed users may use the program on different 
  137. computers as long as there is no possibility of it being used at
  138. one location while it is being used at another, or on a network by
  139. more than one user at a time.

  141. A site license is required by a corporation, company, educational 
  142. institution, or governmental agency for use of WinWizard 
  143. software on the total number of computers that will use the software.
