WinWizard
The Undocumented Ways to Customized Your Desktop
------------
INTRODUCTION
------------
Windows 95 and NT are large and complex pieces of software with
extensive features and capabilities. Microsoft's primary goal
is to focus on writing the code for these operating systems,
documenation is not a high priority on its list.
These days, many people don't want to read a thick manual anyway,
so it's Microsoft's intention that the operating systems should
be "discoverable" without a manual, they let the user to figure
out how to use Windows on his/her own.
Even though some of the features such as high-color icons and
the ability to change the Recycle Bin icon, etc. can only be
done using add-ons such as the Microsoft Plus! Most features
in WinWizard cannot even be accomplished with conventional
methods in standard Windows documentation or published in
many books about Windows.
FEATURES
--------
* Provides high-color icons without Microsoft Plus!
* Changes desktop icon sizes from 16x16 to 96x96.
* Customizes "My Computer", "Network Neighborhood", "Recycle
Bin","InBox", and "My Briefcase" icons.
* Turns on/off bitmap images as icons in Explorer.
* Prevents desktop changes after a reboot.
* Removes Network Neighborhood.
* Eliminates the Start menu "delay".
------------
INSTALLATION
------------
Run SETUP.EXE. You will be asked to enter a folder to
install WinWizard (default is c:\Program Files\WinWizard).
------------------------------
HARDWARE/SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
------------------------------
Computers running Windows 95/NT 4.0.
WinWizard has been developed and tested on a 300 MHz Pentium II
computers with 128 MB of SDRAM, a 4 MB SGRAM Diamond Viper 330V
running Windows NT 4.0 workstation.
It has also been tested on a Gateway 2000 P5-120 with 64 MB RAM
running Windows 95 (SR2), and a P5-90 with 32 MB RAM running
Windows 95 (SR1), both have S3 Trio64V+-based graphic boards.
WinWizard has not been tested on any other platform because I
don't have all the time and resources in the world.
Therefore, if you don't have the above setups, I canot
guarantuee that WinWizard will work on your machine.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SHAREWARE AND REGISTERED VERSION
----------------------------------------------------
Shareware (free):
1) Changes desktop icon sizes from 16x16 to 96x96.
2) Changes distance between icons.
3) Changes menu time delay.
4) Displays bitmaps as icons in Explorer.
5) Customizes the Recycle Bin icon.
6) Customizes the Network Neighborhood icon.
7) Removes/Restores Network Neighborhood icon.
8) No "nag" screen (I don't believe in "nag" screen" ;-)
Registered ($14):
Above functions plus:
9) Provides high-color icons.
10) Customizes My Computer icon.
11) Customizes InBox icon.
12) Customizes My Briefcase icon
13) Toggles 4) above.
14) Prevents desktop changes.
15) Restores Windows desktop defaults.
16) Your name (or company name) is displayed on the opening screen
and in the About window. No more shamefully displaying that
you are merely evaluating this software. You're now becoome
a power user ;-)
17) You will know in your heart that you have done the right thing
(both legally and morally).
18) You will be notified via e-mail of new major releases and will
be qualified for substantial discount for the upgrade.
19) Although technical support has not been a drastic necessity,
registered users are naturally given more priority and
attention regarding technical support.

A single user license permits a user to use WinWizard only on
a single computer. Licensed users may use the program on different
computers as long as there is no possibility of it being used at
one location while it is being used at another, or on a network by
more than one user at a time.
A site license is required by a corporation, company, educational
institution, or governmental agency for use of WinWizard
software on the total number of computers that will use the software.
Thank you for supporting the shareware software concept and
encouraging the future development of high quality Windows shareware.
