Using EuroGeo :
On the opening screen, you are presented with a map of Europe.
This map shows most European countries and other countries that border
Europe. The game automatically goes into "Quiz Mode", and will ask you
to find a certain country. At first, though, you may be more comfortable
in "Teach Me" mode.
Teach Me Mode:
Choose the "Teach Me" radio button on the right side of the screen,
and EuroGeo will ask you to click on a country. Click on any country, and
EuroGeo will identify the country and it's capital with a pointer on the
map, and it will also display the country's flag on the lower right portion
of the screen. The lower right section of the screen always gives the
country name, capital and flag for the country you last clicked on, no
matter which mode you are using.
A few small European countries have been left out of the program
since they were too small to reasonably click on with a mouse. A few of
these are still seen on the map, such as Andorra, however these countries
will not be identified by the program. Most islands will identify which
country they are part of when you click on them (notice how close some
Greek islands are to Turkey).
Country Quiz:
When you feel confident enough to be given a quiz, select
"Country Quiz" from the game modes. EuroGeo will ask you to identify a
country in the upper right portion of the screen. Click on the map where
you believe the country is - if you are correct, you will be told so and
you will move on to the next country. If you are incorrect, you will be
told so, and the country will be added to the list of missed countries.
At the end of the 42 countries, you will be given a percentage of countries
you correctly identified.
Missed Countries:
If you miss a country, and you don't know where it is, select it
from the list of "Missed Countries", and that country will be pointed out
on the map for you. Selecting a country from this list will not effect
your current game. The "Missed Countries" list on the main screen is only
for the current game - a history of countries that have been missed can be
found on the Statistics screen.
Statistics:
A list of every country you missed since the first time you loaded
the program or since you last cleared the statistics is stored on the
"Statistics" screen. This is accessed by clicking the "Statistics" button
on the main screen. On the statistics screen, you can select a country
from the list of "Most Commonly Missed Countries", and EuroGeo will point it
out for you on the map, and it will tell you the total times you missed it
in a caption below the list of missed countries. Below this caption is a
history of your last ten scores (percent correct) of games that you
finished, stored chronologically with the most recent game at the top. Below
this list are options to either clear the statistics or return to the game.
New Game:
If, at any time during a game, you choose to start a new game, click
on "New Game" from the main screen. Your percentage will not be saved, but
every country you missed will be saved.
Help:
Any time during the game, you can switch over to the Help screen by
clicking the "Help" button on the main screen. This screen contains a
detailed overview of the program and it;s controls and the address to send
your registration payment to.
