  4. INTRODUCTION
  5. Vinny Graphics is a novel graphing and data analysis program for
  6. science and engineering students. It is easy to use and accepts
  7. and exports data through a variety of sources.  The intuitive 
  8. Windows interface helps produce multi-parameter design or test
  9. data graphs and perform simple math operations on groups of cells.
  10. Number inputs can be decimal or exponential with dot or comma
  11. (European) digit separator.  This zip package contains the
  12. complete 16 bit Vinny Graphics application for Windows. If you
  13. wish to run Vinny Graphics on Windows 95 you may want to
  14. download the 32 bit Vinny Graphics application for Windows 95.
  15. It provides increased speed and allows 21 rather than 12 data sets.

  17. INPUT
  18. Data input is by:
  19.         1-Cut, copy and paste from external spread sheets.
  20.         2-Loading ascii data files in decimal or exponential format.
  21.         3-Key board entry into a series of internal mini spread sheets.
  22.         4-Loading complete graph files.

  24. MATH AND REGRESSION
  25. Data analysis works on up to 21 independent data sets in Windows 
  26. 95 and up to 12 independent data sets in Windows 3.1x.  Each set
  27. can contain up to 10,000 X,Y pairs.  Results are seen graphically
  28. as changes are made.  Curve fits are 1st to 5th order polynomial,
  29. power,  exponential or log. Simple math operations can be performed
  30. on data in the selected group of cells or data in columns.

  32. GRAPHS
  33. Graphs allow total freedom in setting up scales and grids. Graph
  34. dialogs provide for both automatic selection and manual override.
  35. Log scales with up to 20 cycles for each axis are available.

  37. OUTPUT 
  38. Output is by:
  39.         1-Cut, copy and paste to external spread sheets.
  40.         2-Saving complete graph files or individual data set files.
  41.         3-Saving sizable graph Bitmap files.
  42.         4-High resolution color graph printing.
  43.         5-Complete data set and regression coefficient printing.

  45. FILES IN THE ZIP PACKAGE
  46. This zip package contains the complete 16 bit Vinny Graphics 
  47. application for Windows. It will run on Windows 3.1x.  Three files
  48. are required to run the application.  They are vin16.exe, vin16.hlp
  49. and vin16.cfg.  Put them in the same directory. The demo files may
  50. also be located in this directory or else where. If you desire, the
  51. install.exe file can be run to automate the file transfer process 
  52. and to create a Vinny Graphics Program Group.

  54. ABOUT THE DEMOS
  55.         Logbar.gra demonstrates a 4X4 cycle log-log plot with a
  56.         combination of curve fits, bar and line graphs. This is a
  57.         complete graph and data file produced by Vinny Graphics.

  59.         Demo21.gra and Demo12.gra demonstrate the display of 21
  60.         and 12 data sets.  These are complete graph and data
  61.         files produced by Vinny Graphics.

  63.         DataDemo1.prn is normal X,Y two column data transfer file
  64.         produced by Vinny Graphics.  It represents one data set.
  65.  
  66.         DataDemo8.prn is an 8 column data file.  The program can
  67.         read but not produce files of this type.  The allowable
  68.         number of columns ranges from 1 to 13 for Windows 3.1x and
  69.         1 to 22 for Windows 95. The column lengths ranges from 1 to
  70.         10,000.  Column 1 is loaded as X values. Column 2 is loaded
  71.         as Y values of data set 1 and column 3 as Y values of data
  72.         set 2 etc.  Hint, to see DataDemo8 more clearly use the
  73.         SCALE dialog button FIND ALL after loading.  A complete
  74.         context sensitive help system is included in the program.

  76. MATH SAMPLE PROBLEMS
  77.         The file [math_p.txt] has two sample problems which 
  78.         illustrate the use of Vinny Graphics math operations.
  79.         The first problem is at the introductory level and the
  80.         second is at the advanced level.  The solution to these
  81.         problems are in [math_p1.gra] and [math_p2.gra].

  85.         for each data set.

  87.         the selected group of cells.

  107. REGISTRATION
  108. The registration dialog will pop up in place of this program when
  109. the free trial period has ended or if you move the program to
  110. a new directory. If this happens try to close and then open the
  111. program and the registration dialog may clear if any free trial
  112. time remains.  If you can not clear the registration dialog you
  113. have two choices. Email the serial number on the top of the 
  114. registration dialog to Email address below and request a two week
  115. extension to the free trial period or mail in the serial number
  116. with $10.00(US) to the mail address below and request a permanent
  117. registration code.  If you include a stamped self addressed
  118. envelope you will receive an activation code by mail or by Email
  119. if you include your Email address. Be sure to include your serial
  120. number with your request. If you wish to register prior to your
  121. free trial time running out, the registration dialog can be found
  122. under the HELP menu item. Free upgrades will be available to
  123. registered users.
