Feet close together
Be sure to have your weight definitely on the left foot. Your weight must not
shift from there during the shot.
Take more of a backswing than you think you may need. The ball popping up in the air will cut down distance
surprisingly. Many of these shots are played so softly they go into the guarding bunker instead of going over it and falling with a bite.

Things to remember in golf
1. Study the shot to be played, particularly in relationship to your
capabilities.
2. Select the right club (and tee the ball correctly if it's a tee shot).
3. Take the correct grip
4. Take the correct stance for the shot to be played.
5. Keep your head steady.
6. See that your left knee points behind the ball on the backswing.
7. Have your wrists broken to the fullest extent at the top of the backswing,
without loosening the left hand. The right hand grip is firm, but not tight.
8. Pause at the top of the swing.
9. Don't rush as you start down, but get your right knee in toward the ball.
10. Keep your head steady.
11. Keep your hands ahead of the clubhead by keeping your wrists cocked, and
whip your right hand into the shot at the last second.
12. Keep your head steady.

Correct knee action on the backswing
The left knee has bent in and is pointing just behind the ball. This has
automatically seen to it that the hips and shoulders have pivoted correctly.
The knee action in a good golf swing is practically identical with knee action
in throwing a baseball.
faulty2
textHeightProp
Incorrect knee action on the backswing
Too often a player merely bends his left knee forward, or out. Here, for
example, the knee is pointing to a spot well in front of the ball. The whole
idea of knee action is lost, because unless the left knee bends in toward the
ball, the hips remain stationary.

Correct knee action on the downswing
The right knee has bent in toward the ball, the right heel is off the ground,
and the body is now in proper position for powerful hitting with the hands.
faulty3
textHeightProp
Incorrect knee action on the downswing
The flat-footed position of the right heel and the failure to bend the right
knee in toward the ball have resulted in a body position from which no
effective hit can be made.
