The Best of WinFiles.COM June 1997
To use this CD set, simply open the file "index.html" in the root
directory of each CD.
These discs are mastered in "Windows95/98" format and use long
directory and filenames. You must be running a protected mode CD-ROM
driver to use these discs. The vast majority of CD-ROM drives are
supported by the embedded drivers of Windows 95/98, but to use them
you must not load any CD-ROM drivers in your config.sys file nor load
MSCDEX.EXE in your autoexec.bat. If you CD-ROM does not function you
might check the drivers section of www.winfiles.com for links to your
vendors web site where you might find updated protected mode drivers
specifically desgined for either Windows 95 or Windows 98. Windows
NT users should not have any problems as all Windows NT drivers are
compatible with the file system used on these CDs.
Some of the links on the HTML pages on these CD's are "live" and
reference remote servers on the Internet. These include links to the
publisher's web sites and the links to the "Newest Shareware" and
"Newest Themes". To reference these you must have an active Internet
connection. All of the programs are included on the CD's, so unless
you are trying to get more information on a particular application
you do not need to have an active Internet connection.
Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT are trademarks of Microsoft
Corporation.
