***** KWIKCOPY 2.1 *****
By Phil!94 (Phil Ruston)
DESCRIPTION:
------------
Yep! Another PD Dos copier! The difference with Kwikcopy is that you're not
bogged down with near-useless options and you dont have to mess about with
loads of tedious mouse clicks on tiny boxes every time you just want to copy
and check a disk!
NEW BITS IN 2.1:
----------------
Kwikcopy 2.1 is exactly the same as 2.0 except for these bug fixes:-
1. "Check After Task" does not try to check a disk when the task in question
failed (EG:if the destination disk was write protected!) - I discovered
this about 3 pico-seconds after general release!
2. No freaked out screen if booted from AGA workbench.
3. Doesnt lock up as soon as you click an option - This was a weird bug
that never ocuured on my A500/A1200 (Honest guv!).. Thanks to Digit/DMX
for his bug reports whilst I was tracking this down.
4. Program warns you if DF1 is not available.
IMPROVEMENTS SINCE 1.4
-----------------------
The whole program has been recoded from scratch and now includes a Format
disk option (With auto-INSTALL), theres now the option to check a disk as
an operation takes place, you can select which disk sides to include in
disk operations, you can lock the mouse pointer anywhere on screen with
the right mouse button and the presentation has been dramatically improved!
The program will work on all Amigas but you still must have 2 drives and
only drives 0 and 1 are utilized.
*** OPTIONS ***
---------------
COPY TO:
--------
Copies a disk from the source drive to the destination drive indicated in
the box below.
FORMAT:
-------
Formats a disk in the drive indicated to the left. You'll be asked for
a name - type it and press return to start.
Note: If you select one of the above options without a check system -
the green block track markers just imply that the track has been
'done' and NOT that it is error free.
CHECK DISK:
-----------
Checks a disk in the drive indicated below for errors.
STOP:
-----
Terminates any disk operation.
*** SETTINGS ***
----------------
To change any of the settings just click anywhere in that option's box and
the available options will cycle round.
DISK IN
-------
Changes between df0 and df1 as the destination drive (the opposite is the
source)
SIDES
-----
Selects between UPPER,LOWER and BOTH sides to include in disk operations.
DEFAULT
-------
Returns all settings to how they were when program first loaded.
CHECK SYSTEM
------------
Selects between NONE,DURING TASK and AFTER TASK. If you select DURING the
destination track will be checked for errors before moving on to the next
track - an error on the destination disk will show up as a BLUE digit.
RETRY
-----
Selects between NONE, and 1 - 9 attempts at rewriting a track that has
errors - Only active when DURING TASK check system option is selected.
*** The Track Guage ***
Shows the progress of any disk operation. A green block shows that a track
has been 'done' / has no errors if a check system is being used (including
the CHECK DISK option). Red/Blue Error numbers mean:
2 - No sync time out.
3 - No sync after gap.
4 - Header checksum error.
5 - Header error.
6 - Data checksum error.
TRACK RANGE:
------------
To change the start track, click along the track guage just above the
top of the guage - The green arrow will move and the new track position will
be shown. And to change the stop track, do the same just below the bottom
of the guage - The red arrow will move.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
