*** WIN95.DOC ***
Late breaking information for Windows 95 users:
Preliminary testing with the Windows 95 Operating System indicates
compatibility with the LEHIPEDS Program.
In Windows 95, the LEHIPEDS modules can be executed from the DOS
prompt; from the Run command in the Start Menu; or from an icon in
the Start Menu. Launching each module from an icon in the Start
Menu would seem to be the preferred method. You could also start
Edmenu.bat from an icon in the Start Menu, and then run the
modules from Edmenu. This would require a small amount of
additional memory.
Keep in mind that the modules LEHIUTIL, LEHICSTM, and LEHICAID
require the LLOAD.EXE command. For example, the command to run the
LEHIUTIL module would be "LLOAD LEHIUTIL" (no quotes).
If you are using Windows 95, you will NOT be using the Back-up
routines provided with LEHIPEDS (LEHIBAK or LEHINUBK). Instead you
should use the Back-up routine provided with Windows 95; refer to
your Windows 95 documentation for details.
It appears that Windows 95 "out of the box" runs the LEHIPEDS
Program without any additional configuration changes being
necessary. That is, you may NOT need to make changes in the
CONFIG.SYS file for BUFFERS, FILES, or ANSI.SYS commands. Try
running the program first before making any configuration changes.
The above appears to be true at least for running LEHIPEDS in the
single user mode. We have not done any network testing with
Windows 95 yet. However, no problems with networking are
anticipated, since Windows 95 was designed to be a network
operating system supporting the major networking vendors.
