PLEASE READ IF YOU HAVE A VERSION OF MICROCOOK PRIOR TO 1.81!!!
MicroCook now have a new database format, starting with version
1.81. The Preparation editor line numbers has increased from 34 lines
to 50 lines. This came about after "pressure" from a MicroCook user that
is into (advanced) desserts, and needed a lot of room to describe the
preparations. And after a survey among registered MicroCook users, it
became obvious that also others also wanted more lines in the
Preparation editor.
Since the database format has changed from version 1.68 to
version 1.81, any version 1.68, or older, recipe database has to be
converted before you can use it in MicroCook 1.81. This will happen
(almost) automatically when you load a pre 1.81 database the first time.
MicroCook will detect which version the database was created with, and
will pop up a windows telling you that the database needs to be
converted. In the same window you will have 2 options to select from.
If OPTION 1 is selected, the database that's about to be loaded will
first be renamed to a temporary name. Then all the recipes will be
converted and copied to the new database with the same name as the
one originally loaded. After the conversion is done, the old database and
its index file (if any) will be deleted.
VERY IMPORTANT: Unless you have a backup copy of this database
in another directory, you will NOT be able to use it with MicroCook
1.68 again!
With OPTION 2 you will be able to keep the original database.
When selected you will be prompted for a file name for the NEW &
CONVERTED database. MicroCook will then convert and save all the
recipes to this new database, leaving the original untouched behind.
You can then access the old one with MicroCook 1.68, and the new one
with version 1.81, or keep the old long enough till you are sure the
conversion was 100% successful.
If you should have any problems or questions regarding the
conversions, or any other MicroCook issue, please feel free to call, or
send me an e-mail.
