  5. The complete MPEG file filters for Cool Edit consists of the following:

  7.    MPE.FLT      MPEG encoder
  8.    MPG.FLT      MPEG decoder
  9.    MPEG.DAT     MPEG related data (psychoacoustic models, etc.)
  10.    COPYING.TXT  GNU General Public License document
  11.    README.TXT   This file.

  13. This MPEG implementation is covered under the GNU General Public License, so
  14. the source code for Cool Edit's MPEG implementation is available upon request.
  15. No special optimization was performed (which means it will be about 1998
  16. before Cool Edit will be able to read MPEG II files in real time with this
  17. current module on common PCs).

  19. MPEG audio data is saved without any headers, and in Intel byte ordering format.
  20. Some ShareWare (and retail) players are available that will play files saved
  21. by Cool Edit.  The Xing audio player is one of them.
