  5. Follow the instructions to configure your sound card.

  8. The following additions and changes have been made to the game since 
  9. the manual was written. We hope these improvements will enhance game 
  10. play.
  11.  
  12. SOUND
  13.  
  14. 1. If you wish to change the sound configuration, after initial 
  15. installation, run the setup program in your UFO directory.
  16.  
  17. MEMORY
  18.  
  19. Due to the game's size and complexity you may experience difficulties 
  20. while playing on a machine with only 2 MB of RAM.
  21.  
  22. 1. If your game fails to load, remove EMM386 from your CONFIG.SYS.  
  23. UFO runs in protected mode so it does not require an expanded memory 
  24. driver.
  25.  
  26. 2. If you do not get sound effects for certain events from your 
  27. Gravis or Soundblaster card, this is due to a lack of available RAM. 
  28. This could be caused by superfluous TSR (terminate and stay resident) 
  29. programs in your CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files.  Remove these TSR 
  30. programs and all sound will play correctly.
