┌────────────────┐
│ Abmis the Lion │
└────────────────┘
Version: 1.0
Release date: 22 April 1996
Machine requirements: 286 20MHZ minimum, 640K, VGA, DOS 3.3 or later
DESCRIPTION:
You guide King Abmis the Lion in his quest to recover stolen potatoes.
They were abducted, treated horribly by being thrown into a potato bag and
taken to a remote island.
Luckily they escaped but are now scattered all over the place and you have to
find every single one of them before you can return (and not a moment sooner).
The island is, of course, filled with dangers and puzzles and dangerous
puzzles.
You can pick up and carry up to three objects at a time.
You will have to figure out how to use the objects yourself (for tips you
should watch the demo).
Here follows a list of what can be done with objects but it is, of course, not
nearly complete:
increase stamina, unlock a door, swap for another object, combine with
background to form a new object, use as a weapon, etc.
Remember that the idea is to rescue all the potatoes on the screen so dont
worry if you cannot kill all the meanies or collect all the goodies.
Keep an eye on your stamina, oxygen and ammunition levels.
FEATURES:
The game sports a dozen or so different playing areas.
Ominous beeps should emit from your computer's built-in speaker.
Playing keys can be reprogrammed.
Different types of weapons, some with no ammunition limit.
Keys, potatoes, baddies, bullets, animated background, swapping and combining
of objects, jumping, etc.
HOW TO PLAY:
The idea is to get all those silly looking potatoes back into the pot.
Jump about (avoiding harmful looking objects and animals) and pick up objects
along the way.
Take a guess at what the objects are useful for and give it your best try.
Try again.
Now gnash your teeth a bit.
If you havent done so already, have a look at the demo.
Expect to learn something new about the underlying game engine on every screen.
PLAYING KEYS:
These can be redefined but starts out as:
O - moves Abmis to the left
P - moves him to the right
SPACE - makes him jump
A - makes him shoot (if he has ammunition)
Z - makes him pick up and/or drop an object
S - has no effect on him unless you reprogram the keys
The cursor keys cannot be used.
