BASICS
1. You click once on a piece to move it. The arrow will CHANGE SIZE
when it is clickable. You can undo your move by clicking UNDO on
the menu bar. You have two MOVES per turn. Each dice is ONE move.
Ultragammon is automatically set to move by the left hand dice.
If you want to move by the right hand dice first, click on it
before you take your move. DOUBLES, if "on", give the right to
another turn. If you pass the mouse over any of your pieces the
blue POINTER shows you where you can move.
2. Whenever you stack THREE pieces onto a square (apart from the
Start positions) this square then becomes your BASE this remains
yours even if you move away. Bases are automatically marked with
a coloured marble.
3. Whenever you land on any of your BASE(s) you automatically
score ONE point. If you land on your opponents BASE(s), your opponent
scores ONE point per piece. If you place THREE pieces on an opponents
base it becomes your BASE. The first player to score 30 points WINS
the game.
4. Pieces CANNOT land on on any square where an OPPONENT has PIECE(s)
placed. This can be used strategically to BLOCK. A draw can be forced
by placing six or more pieces in a row. When your opponent has ALL his
pieces stacked directly on the square behind the block, the game is
DRAWN.
ULTRAGAMMON has three skill levels and has several other customisable
options. You can change options in direction, sound and doubles.
