BallBlaster
Dungeon Entertainment
Introduction:
It is the far future where all competive energies are channeled into
sports. BallBlaster is one of the new sports, it is a one-on-one soccer
game where the player is in a small hovercraft and this complete protects the
player from harm.
The object of the game is to score 5 goals by shooting the magnetic floating
ball into the opponents goal. Goals shot from a greater distance will earn 2
points.
To create a further challenge the arena that the game is played in is
an irregular shape and the goals move.
Every game must be completed in a limited time. The quicker the game is
completed the more your earnings. These earnings can be used to purchase
enhancements to you hovercraft, or obstacles that can be dropped in the
arena to obstruct the opponent.
Once you pick up the ball you slow down and the opponent can "punch" the
ball away from you by shooting magnetic pulses at you. You can increase
your punch strength and your shield by buying power-ups.
Shareware:
The shareware version includes 5 different arenas with the first ones
being very easy and the latter becoming harder. You are also restricted
to having only 4 different "weapons", ie. land mines, gravity wells,
walls and turbo-boosters. There are also 4 power-ups, namely: increased
ball catch radius, increase punch power, increase shield and decrease
ball drag.
Registered Version:
The registered version will allow playing over the network where
2 people can play against each other. It will include background music and
many more weapons and power-ups.
The registered version will also include 50 levels, 20 of which will
have a computer opponent and the other 30 will be for the 2 player
network games.
Win a Free Copy of the Full Version:
To win a free copy of the full version send us a design for a level.
If the level gets used we will send you a free version of the full
game. The design can be sent to us in electronic format or through
snail-mail. Our addresses are at the end of this file.
PLEASE READ THE DOCUMENTATION ABOUT THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS YOU HAVE
AGREED TO BY SUBMITTING LEVELS TO US. WE DON'T WANT ANY NO FUTURE
MISUNDERSTANDINGS ABOUT THE REVIEWS YOU SUBMIT TO US.
Briefly stated, you give up all rights to the level, HomeBrew
becomes the owner, we can make changes, we don't have to include it
in Ball Blaster, and you won't be paid for your work. You will,
however, get a free registered version (not necessarily including
your level!)
We will delete any and all of your levels at your request.
We have some special walls that can be included these are:
1. Speed up and Slow down walls:
The walls speed up and slow down the ball by any fixed amount.
2. Teleport walls
These walls teleport the ball from one teleport wall to another.
If the ball goes in A and comes out B, this does not mean that
if it goes in B it will come out of A. This can give some
confusing effects. :->
3. Gravity Wells
These objects attract the ball to themselves. This can cause the
ball to curve. The radius of influence can be set.
4. Mines
Mines will explode when the ball comes near them and send it in a
random direction.
Other effects are walls that are visible that the ball can pass through,
the goal can rotate and bounce, and anything else you can think of (well
almost!).
