Add Use the internal editor to add a card. TWINDEX must be executed
to include new text in the index.
Card <card number>
Display text of specified card.
Example: ->card 5
Dos <DOS command>
Executes DOS commands or programs from inside TextWare.
Example: ->dos dir b:
Edit <card number>
Edit the specified card. TWINDEX must be executed to include
changed text in the index.
Example: ->edit 4
Sort [a/d] <line number>
Sort Hit List in Ascending or Descending order using specified line
of cards.
Example: ->sort d 3
Result of the previous query is shown in
the hit list. Select text to be displayed.
Up Arrow Move up one selection.
Down Arrow Move down one selection.
Pg Up Move to top of window.
Pg Dn Move to bottom of window.
Ctrl Pg Up Move to top of hit list.
Ctrl Pg Dn Move to bottom of hit list.
Return Display selected text.
Esc Return to query screen.
Display of selected text. Use arrow keys to
move through the text.
F2 Move to next highlighted search word.

Card numbers to be on reported cards?

To add characters, position the cursor in the text, and type. Words will wrap automatically at the end of lines.

SPECIAL FUNCTIONS

Esc Exit from editor.
F1 Cancel all changes made during this session.
Backspace Delete character to the left.
Return Start a new paragraph.
F5 Begin/End marking a block of text. Marked
text will be highlighted.
Del Delete the character at the cursor or the
currently marked block. A deleted block is
saved, for possible re-insertion later.
Ins Insert the last deleted block where the
cursor is located.

Phrase search will search for specified words in a
specified order. Enter the search phrase with the words
in the order you wish to find them. Separate the words
that make up the phrase with spaces. Press the Enter key
to start the search.
Press the Ins key to select Proximity or Field search
modes.
Press the Esc key to return to the query window.
Proximity search will search for the grouping of
specified words within a given number of words
regardless of order. Enter the words which you wish
to find separated by spaces. Press the Enter key
to start the search.
Press the Ins to select Phrase or Field search
modes.
Press the ESC key to return to the query window.
Phrase, Proximity, and Field Search Modes
To change between Phrase, Proximity, and Field search,
select the mode you wish using the arrow keys and press
the Enter key and then the Esc key.
To change the Proximity search bounds, move the
highlight bar to that selection and press the Enter key.
Enter the number of words to set the desired proximity of
the search words.
To change the Field search selections, move the
highlight bar to that selection and press the Enter key.
A Field search defintion window will appear.
Press the Esc key to return to the previous level.
Document selection allows the user to specify which
documents within a cardfile (data base) he wishes to
confine his queries to.
Use the Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys to position the
highlight bar and then use the F5 key to mark or unmark
the desired documents. Only marked documents will be
included in future queries.
The Esc key will return you to the query screen.
Related Cards
To view any additional related Cards, press the
+ and - keys.
The Up Arrown, Down Arrow, PgUp, and PgDn keys
may be used to move through the text.
Press the Esc key to return to the originally
selected card.
Field definition: Line number and columns may be used
to define a field.
Field type: Alpha, Numeric, Date and Dollar
types may be selected.
Alpha: A - Z (not case sensitive)
Numeric: #12.12 #-12.12
12.12 -12.12
Date: mm/dd/yy mm/dd/yyyy
dd.mm.yy dd.mm.yyyy
Dollar: $12.12 <$12.12>

Range limits: 1, 20 (1 <= X <= 20)

Field search will search specified areas of
the card for the query. A Field is a line or
portion of a line. For example, Field 1 is line
1, Field 5 is line 5, ect. Line 2, columns 5
through 15 would be Field 2 5-15.
Press the Ins key to select Phrase, Proximity
search modes or to change Field search settings.
Press the Esc key to return to query window.
