  7.     Here is the audiotools library that you may have read about in AmigaWorld. 
  8. Written by Rob Peck, this is the latest release that will compile under both 
  9. Aztec (+L option needed) and Lattice.  Also be sure to note the differences 
  10. in some of the routines from the article.

  14. As I promised, for usenet posting, here is the package 
  15. audiotools (release 2) enhanced from that published in 
  16. Amiga World July August 87.  New parameters for FinishAudio; 
  17. InitAudio returns a parameter now; new routine MayGetNote 
  18. for synchronizing with audio device against a queued note. 
  19. One file to include.  Works with Manx (cc +L... ln c32.lib...). 
  20. Works even if two tasks both linked with audio tools start 
  21. simultaneously.  (As written, only one gets the channel, other 
  22. dies cause it can't get the channel).

  24. Future plans - make it into a regular audio.library; rethink 
  25. some of the globals (but still keep the user in mind re isolating 
  26. user from details of mem allocation and message passing). 
  27. Implement more of what article suggestions there were, including 
  28. ADSR method presented in IFF specs.

  30. (Also, priority field redefined from that shown in article... 
  31. now matches priority defined for audio device itself; user must 
  32. explicitly flush channel to get effect that article suggested 
  33. for priority value.  PlayNote and PlayChannel both received one 
  34. new parameter - identifier - for identifying note requested.)

  43.  The original version of these sources appeared in the July/August 1987
  44.  issue of Amiga World.  It is highly reccomended that you get this to read
  45.  along side trying to use these routines.
