  1. DOUBLE FUSION LX - MANUAL INSTALL
  2.  
  3. The following instructions require you to be able to use basic DOS and Windows commands and text editors. If you are not familiar with using these commands or editors, please refer to your DOS and Windows User's Guides for further information.

  5. NOTE:  The instructions below assumes you are using drive A: and that your hard disk is drive C:
  6.  
  7. I. Enter the following at the C:\ prompt to create two directories:
  8.  
  9. MD DOUBLELX                                                      [ENTER]
  10. CD DOUBLELX                                                       [ENTER]
  11. MD QUICK                                                              [ENTER]
  12.  
  13. II. Enter the following lines at the DOS prompt in order to copy and expand the appropriate files to your hard drive from "QUICK START" disk 1.
  14.  
  15. COPY A:*.*                                                              [ENTER]
  16. LHARC X PROGRAMS                                           [ENTER]
  17. DEL PROGRAMS.LZH                                            [ENTER]
  18.  
  19. III. Enter the following lines at the DOS prompt in order to copy and expand the appropriate files to your hard drive from "QUICK START" disk 2.
  20.  
  21. CD QUICK                                                                [ENTER]
  22. C:\DOUBLELX\LHARC X  A:DBLFUSLX              [ENTER]
  23.  
  24. 1. Edit the AUTOEXEC.BAT and add 
  25. " ;C:\DOUBLELX " to the end of the PATH line.
  26.  
  27. 2. Also add:
  28.  
  29. "SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T3" and
  30. "C:\DOUBLELX\MSCDEX /D:MVCD001 /M:10" 
  31.  
  32. to the beginning of AUTOEXEC.BAT 
  33.  
  34. 3. Edit the CONFIG.SYS and add 
  35.  
  36. "DEVICE=C:\DOUBLELX\MVSOUND.SYS D:3 Q:7 S:1,220,1,5 M:0 J:0" and
  37. "DEVICE=C:\DOUBLELX\DD260.SYS /D:MVCD001 /P:340 /I:11
  38.  
  39. to the end of the file.

  49. IV. Windows Installation
  50.  
  51. 1. Enter the following lines at the DOS prompt:
  52. CD\WINDOWS\SYSTEM                      [ENTER]
  53. COPY C:\DOUBLELX\*.DLL                [ENTER]
  54. COPY C:\DOUBLELX\*.DRV               [ENTER] 
  55. COPY C:\DOUBLELX\*.CFG               [ENTER]
  56. COPY C:\DOUBLELX\*.386                 [ENTER]
  57.  
  58. 2.    Edit WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI. In the [386Enh] section, place a semicolon (;) in front of the following lines, if they exist:
  59.         device=vsbd.386
  60.         device=vadlib.386
  61.         device=vsbpro.386
  62. 3.    ADD the following to the [386Enh] section:
  63.         device=vpasd.386
  64.         DMABufferSize=064
  65. 4.    In the [MCI] group, ADD
  66.         mixer=mcimixer.drv
  67.                         cdaudio=mcicda.drv
  68. 5.    In the [DRIVERS] section, ADD
  69.         wave=mvproaud.drv
  70.         aux=mvproaud.drv
  71.         midi=opl3.drv                          [that is OPL3, not OP13]
  72.         midi1=mvproaud.drv
  73.         mixer=mvmixer.drv
  74. 6.    ADD the following new sections:
  75.     [Multimedia.Setup]
  76.     audio=mvproaud.drv,0,0,0
  77.     [mvproaud.drv]
  78.     dma=3
  79.     irq=7

  81. V. Setting up Windows Applications
  82.  
  83. 1. From the Windows Program Manager use the File/New menu selection to create the MULTIMEDIA TOOLS GROUP.

  85. 2. From the Windows Program Manager use the File/New menu selection to create the new Program ITEM for POCKET MIXER (PMIX.EXE), POCKET CD (PKCD.EXE), PRO MIXER (PROMIX.EXE), and POCKET RECORDER (PREC.EXE). These files can be found in the DOUBLELX directory. QUICK TOUR (DBLFUSLX.EXE) can be found in the \DOUBLELX\QUICK directory. This will create icons for the above applications.
