The following instructions require you to be able to use basic DOS and Windows commands and text editors. If you are not familiar with using these commands or editors, please refer to your DOS and Windows User's Guides for further information.
NOTE: The instructions below assumes you are using drive A: and that your hard disk is drive C:
I. Enter the following at the C:\ prompt to create two directories:
MD DOUBLELX [ENTER]
CD DOUBLELX [ENTER]
MD QUICK [ENTER]
II. Enter the following lines at the DOS prompt in order to copy and expand the appropriate files to your hard drive from "QUICK START" disk 1.
COPY A:*.* [ENTER]
LHARC X PROGRAMS [ENTER]
DEL PROGRAMS.LZH [ENTER]
III. Enter the following lines at the DOS prompt in order to copy and expand the appropriate files to your hard drive from "QUICK START" disk 2.
CD QUICK [ENTER]
C:\DOUBLELX\LHARC X A:DBLFUSLX [ENTER]
1. Edit the AUTOEXEC.BAT and add
" ;C:\DOUBLELX " to the end of the PATH line.
2. Also add:
"SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T3" and
"C:\DOUBLELX\MSCDEX /D:MVCD001 /M:10"
to the beginning of AUTOEXEC.BAT
3. Edit the CONFIG.SYS and add
"DEVICE=C:\DOUBLELX\MVSOUND.SYS D:3 Q:7 S:1,220,1,5 M:0 J:0" and
2. Edit WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI. In the [386Enh] section, place a semicolon (;) in front of the following lines, if they exist:
device=vsbd.386
device=vadlib.386
device=vsbpro.386
3. ADD the following to the [386Enh] section:
device=vpasd.386
DMABufferSize=064
4. In the [MCI] group, ADD
mixer=mcimixer.drv
cdaudio=mcicda.drv
5. In the [DRIVERS] section, ADD
wave=mvproaud.drv
aux=mvproaud.drv
midi=opl3.drv [that is OPL3, not OP13]
midi1=mvproaud.drv
mixer=mvmixer.drv
6. ADD the following new sections:
[Multimedia.Setup]
audio=mvproaud.drv,0,0,0
[mvproaud.drv]
dma=3
irq=7
V. Setting up Windows Applications
1. From the Windows Program Manager use the File/New menu selection to create the MULTIMEDIA TOOLS GROUP.
2. From the Windows Program Manager use the File/New menu selection to create the new Program ITEM for POCKET MIXER (PMIX.EXE), POCKET CD (PKCD.EXE), PRO MIXER (PROMIX.EXE), and POCKET RECORDER (PREC.EXE). These files can be found in the DOUBLELX directory. QUICK TOUR (DBLFUSLX.EXE) can be found in the \DOUBLELX\QUICK directory. This will create icons for the above applications.
