was created for filling a hole in this category for PC users because not
many packages were written in Microsoft Windows for PC , none are free.

musical note books, printing them and creating MIDI files for playing the
music by other tools.</P>

commands:<NL></P>

<P><FT 5><B X /B>The New command item opens a dialog box that asks for
the staff width that the user wishes to work with.<NL>A list of three widths
is supplied (all in pixel units) from which the user should select one.<NL>These
widths were chosen for comforting the editing on screens of different resolutions:
640x480, 800x600, <NL>or 1024x768 pixels.</P>

<P>After the width is chosen, the user is presented with a clean workspace.
By default the empty melody contains one part, named UNNAMED, with a multiplicity
of one.<NL>The new melody itself is untitled until it is saved for the
first time.<NL>If the New operation is selected when there is a melody
in the workspace that has been modified since the last save, the changes
to the previous melody are not automatically saved. Therefore New asks
the user for confirmation before destroying the previous melody.</P>

<LP>Now you should choose the<FT 9> <FT 11><SZ 20>!<FT 9><SZ NONE 12> <FT 5>from
the tool bar<FT 9>,<NL><FT 5>and insert new staves where you like.<NL>Then
move to the Symbols menu and open some of them<NL><I>NOW<I X /I> you can

<P><FT 5><SZ NONE 12>The Open command item opens a file selection box.It
allows the user to choose the drive and directory from which the file is
to be selected.<NL>Then the directory contents is displayed, and double-clicking
the file name from the file list loads it into the memory.<NL></P>
<P>The default extension for Muzika melody files is *.<B>MUZ<B X /B>.<NL>However,
it can be changed, or even the entire filename typed manually via the keyboard.<NL>
<P>If the Open operation is selected when there is a melody in the workspace
that has been modified since the last save, the changes to the previous
melody are not automatically saved.<NL>Therefore Open asks the user for
confirmation before destroying the previous melody.</P>

melody. The saving is done to the same file from which it was loaded from.<NL>In
the case that the melody was untitled, the Save as dialog box is opened.(See
below).</P>

<LP><FT 5><SZ NONE 12>The Save as command item opens a file selection box.
The directory and drive can be chosen with mouse clicks.<NL>The new filename
is to be written at the top.<NL>Clicking the OK button saves the melody
in the new filename (containing the new path). This also changes the title
of the window to the new name.<NL>As warning message is displayed if the
given file already exists. The user is requested to confirm overwriting
the file, or he can cancel the operation.</P>

<LP><FT 8><B> 3.1.5 Print</P>
<P></P>
<P><FT 5><B X /B>The Print command will print the edited melody part after
part. All dialogs are the standard microsoft dialogs.<NL>A special care
was taking care of while printing parts<NL>with multiplicity bigger than
one. You won't get a page-split in a middle of a multiplicity staves.<NL>In
a A4 paper size with a PostScript printer, Muzika will print up to 8 staves.<PB>
<P><FT 8><B> 3.1.6 Printer Setup</P>

<P><FT 5><B X /B>Again you'll get the Setup dialog according to your installed
printer in WIN.INI.<NL>you'll have all the <SZ 12><B>Printing options <B X /B>and
<B>Abort Printing <B X /B>capabilities as a Standard</P>

<P><FT 8><SZ NONE 12><B> 3.1.7 Create Midi</P>
<NP></P>
<LP><FT 5><B X /B>This command is used for playing melodies by other tools.
Create MIDI saves the melody in standard MIDI <I>format 1<I X /I> file
that can be read and played by various special-purpose tools that are available
on the market.<NL>The simplest way to hear it is to use the <B>MediaPlayer
<B X /B> from MicroSoft ,by just double-click on the *.mid filename in
<B>FileManager<B X /B>.<NL>The file is saved with the same name with <B>`.MID'
<B X /B> extension.</P>
<P></P>
<P><FT 11><SZ 25>F <FT 5><SZ NONE 12>This file cannot be re-read into Muzika
and thus regular saving (in Muzika Format) is a must for<NL> re-editing
the file later with Muzika.</P>

<P><FT 8><B> 3.1.8 Midi Setup</P>

<P><FT 5><B X /B>With the Midi Setup dialog you can set the <I>Tempo </I>of
the melody. This<I> Tempo</I> will be Load and Saved with the Muzika melody
