  1. The files in this Archive are mostly pre-1997 files. The exception here would be the "DRIVERS" directory folder, as this contains drivers showing file posting dates up to ~2000.

  3. Some of this Archive may overlap somewhat with another great Archive posted here by "fleaslikeus" which contains files from later years (noted as ~1997-2006) above and beyond where this Archive roughly ends. That Archive can be found here: https://archive.org/details/ftp.epson.com_199706.

  5. Each directory folder contains an original "FILES.LST" and/or "FILES.TXT" file which is the directory listing/index document as found on the FTP. This is how this archive was largely compiled (exception noted at bottom) -- refer to those files for file descriptions.

The following files below as indicated in their respective directory folder's "FILES.LST" and/or "FILES.TXT" document were not found when archived. Some of this is likely because these files were superseded by newer versions, which might be found on the Archive (referenced above) which contains later files. In the case of the "DESKTOP" directory folder, the "FILES.TXT" file used to archive only returned 2 files out of 98--this was an early directory index file which was largely superseded by the index listed in "FILES.LST". For example, from the early "FILES.TXT" file "286DIAG.EXE" was not found, but in later "FILES.LST" file "286DIA.EXE" (without the "G") was found -- the latter replaced the former and was all the remained on the server.

NOTE: There were additional files found on the FTP in the "DESKTOP" and "NOTEBOOK" directory folders beyond those that were listed in the "FILES.LST" and "FILES.TXT" documents used to build this Archive. These files appear to have been mostly added to the FTP sometime after ~October 1995 but before ~1997/1998 (as referenced on EPSON's website in 1998) and I've included them in a subfolder within each of the "DESKTOP" and "NOTEBOOK" directories, along with an "ADDL_FILES.TXT" file giving description information for those files.

UPDATE NOTE 10/5/21: I've located some more additional files on the FTP in the "DESKTOP" (76 files) and "NOTEBOOK" (21 files) directory folders beyond those that were listed in the "FILES.LST" and "FILES.TXT" documents. These all appear to be pre-1995 files as well, but oddly weren't listed in the index documents. I've added them to the archive and included them in a subfolder called "NOT_INDEXED".
