2. Software Requirements
Quicktime(tm) 4.1.2 is required to run this Video CD. The Quicktime installer is included
on this CD-ROM.
Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater is required to use this video CD and to access the Desktop Themes.
3. Desktop Themes
Desktop Themes for Myst III: Exile requires the installation of the Windows 98 Plus! feature
from Microsoft. To troubleshoot problems that may occur with the installation of these
themes, review the readme provided in the MystIIIExileThemes.exe.

4. Troubleshooting
**Important Note** When experiencing any strange display of video, first check that you
have your video card's latest drivers installed and QuickTime 4.1.2.
- Though it is possible to run this videodisk in Windows 2000 or NT, it is not
recommended.
- Click once to open files and start movies. Double-clicking may cause problems.
- Plug-in problems may be fixed by updating your browser and reinstalling QuickTime 4.1.2
- The Making Of may be quickly forwarded through by pausing it and then selecting
fast forward.
- White patches may be present in the interface if there isn't enough memory
allocated to the QuickTime Player with a Mac OS. Close QuickTime, highlight the QuickTime
Player application in your QuickTime folder, go to File/Get Info/memory. Increase your
"Preferred Size" and close the window. If this problem still persists, please contact Tech
Support.
- White lines or patches may be present in the interface on a Windows system. This
may be due to your video card. Movies can be played individually from the "movies" folder
on your CD.
- Decreased interface performance may occur if your cursor is set to have trails.
- Dropped frames can occur in the videos if you have other applications running.
Close all other applications when using the CD ROM for best results. This may also be
corrected by starting the movie over from the beginning.
- A Default security message appears when running the desktop themes
(MystIIIExileThemes.exe) through the web browser. This is a standard dialog box for all web
browsers. To save the installation program to your hard drive, simply copy the
MystIIIExileThemes.exe to your hard drive and then double-click on it.
- All features and functionality of this CD ROM are controlled through the interface
on the left. Choosing "Main Menu" brings up the opening desk image.
- Netscape is not supported.
- Escaping out of the fullscreen interface and then maximizing the window may cause
graphics to pixelate. It is recommeded to relaunch the Video CD to return to fullscreen mode.
