  12. In February 2000, just a few days before I released  the  V4.30beta  on  my
  13. homepage  for testing, Rafal 'Manius' Mania from the 'cracking group' Royal
  14. spreaded a kind of cracked version of my Deli14Bit Genie. Is there anything
  15. more  pathetic  than  cracking  an  uncrippled freeware program? Send him a
  16. comment at manius@iname.com.

  18. My first reaction of bitterness was to remove all versions from my homepage
  19. and  Aminet.  But in the end, it's not the normal users fault and there are
  20. always such immature bastards to destroy the work and motivation of the few
  21. developers left.

  23. So I have put it back again. All I ask for is a postcard.  That's  not  too
  24. much in my opinion.

  26. And if you really don't want to send one,  but  want  to  get  rid  of  the
  27. requester  I've  written  a software called ERP (EasyRequestPatch) that can
  28. remove it for you (can be found on my homepage).  Do  NOT  use  cracked  or
  29. illegal modified software. You always risk to get a trojan aswell.

  31. 14Bit NotePlayer Genie V4.30 (22-Feb-00)

  34. This is a  new  and  pretty  enhanced  version  of  the  well  known  14Bit
  35. NotePlayer  that  came  with  the  original DeliTracker distribution. After
  36. Peter Kunath gave me the sourcecode, I was able  to  add  various  features
  37. (listed below).

  39. Please notice that you need at least an MC68020 to use them as the  MC68000
  40. routines have been removed!

  42. Even if you don't use the new features, I recommend to use this version for
  43. it has a faster chipmem transfer routine than the one in V2.3.

  45. Plenty of cpu power is appreciated (although the  Genie  will  not  be  any
  46. slower  when  not  using  the new features). You will need an MC68060 to be
  47. able to mix at frequencies higher than 50KHz with Panning and Interpolation
  48. and 32 voices 8-D

  53. - Font sensitive GUI with two different layouts.
  54. - AHI support! Deli14Bit can redirect its  output  to  any  AHI  compatible
  55.   sound card for TRUE 16 Bit output!
  56. - Direct Melody support using xaudio.device drivers.
  57. - Toccata support! Every sound card supplying an Toccata emulation  can  be
  58.   used.
  59. - Panning support (e.g. for FastTracker modules).
  60. - Stereo width slider (so this incorporates the HeadPhones Genie).
  61. - Various Interpolation modes for high quality mixing (including  a  table-
  62.   interpolation routine for MC68020/MC68030 machines).
  63. - Two Oversampling modes.
  64. - DSP Routines: Echo (Reverb), Hall (Reverb  with  feedback)  and  Reverser
  65.   (each one is available as Mono, Cross or Center mode).
  66. - All mixing routines have conditional code for quiet mixing,  the  panning
  67.   ones also use optimized routines for mono and 100% left/right code.
  68. - 3D Panning mode - ideal for headphones or CD recording.
  69. - Inverted Stereo Mode for fake surround effect.
  70. - Anti-Click Mode (removes annoying sample-triggering clicks).
  71. - Treble and Bass filters with adjustable pass frequencies.
  72. - Seperate Treble and Bass filters for the DSP.
  73. - Frequency pitch can be shifted (half frequency up to double frequency).
  74. - Complex ModSave function (16 Bit AIFF or RAW file):
  75.   - Start of saving can be triggered, slience at the end can be cut off.
  76.   - Resulting wave can be normalized to full volume.
  77.   - Half/Quarter DMA mode records at half/quarter speed for  slow  machines

  82. - Uses a 256 samples buffer instead of 200, which speeds things up.

  99.   - Fifth Aminet release. Last one for some time.
  100.   - No more a 1024 samples version.
  101.   - AHI: Fixed a bug introduced with V4.20 in the AHI mode: DSP was running
  102.     on the wrong buffer (DSP output was twice on the left channel).
  103.   - AHI: Frequency Override did not work in AHI mode.
  104.   - NEW MENU LAYOUT! The Settings menu has been  split  into  several  top-
  105.     level  menus.  AHI-Gadgets  have been removed and the functionality has
  106.     been placed into the "Output" menu.
  107.   - ADDED SUPPORT FOR MELODY AUDIO CARD. A lot  of  internal  changes  were
  108.     required  to  allow  direct xaudio support. Drawback: Mixing is done in
  109.     a Task with priority 22, but there are still some drop outs. Pros:  now
  110.     you can measure the cpu time used for playback.
  111.   - ADDED SUPPORT FOR TOCCATA AUDIO CARD. Now  you  can  finally  use  most
  112.     audio  cards  with  Toccata emulation directly without having to suffer
  113.     from those irritating AHI bugs and flaws.
  114.   - Added a new table for CPU time consumption.
  115.   - Various internal changes.

  119.   - Cross Echo had only half the volume from versions V4.00beta  to  V4.20.
  120.     Dunno  how this addq.w #1,d2 glitched in there. Bug is fixed (thanks to
  121.     Roderick Mouthaan for reporting).
  122.   - Width of the "Toggle Channels:" Text field wasn't corrected by the font
  123.     sensitive  GUI  routine, therefore it could happen that the Toggle Left
  124.     checkbutton was not selectable anymore. Fixed it (thanks  to  Alexander
  125.     Kostick for bug reporting).
  126.   - Bug in the Installer script only occuring with the OS3.5 Installer  has
