  10. the Notepad Window to its Maximum size.

  13. the File menu.

  16. NEW FEATURES:

  18. If you click the song icon in the file selector the 
  19. song will play. You can use this to audition a song 
  20. if you are not sure what it sounds like.
  21.  
  22. THE ESCAPE BUTTON:
  23.  
  24. Allows the user to skip the master of ceremonies 
  25. introduction as the program starts.
  26.  
  27. It also will cancel the Jukebox Mode with the list 
  28. of songs you have chosen.

  30. ABOUT YOUR COMPUTER:
  31.  
  32. On machines with some older ATI Ultra video cards 
  33. there may be problems with transitions between 
  34. scenes in some of our animations when using the 
  35. 1024x768 video drivers. Please contact ATI 
  36. Technologies for new  video drivers. For  your 
  37. convenience we had included a list of phone 
  38. numbers for video and sound board manufacturers 
  39. in the MPC Trouble Shooting Guide which came 
  40. with Sing-A-Long.

  42. Sing-A-Long music files are not designed to play 
  43. through MIDI. The MIDI files in Sing-A-Long have 
  44. been optimized for the General MIDI standard. 
  45. If you have a device which does not have sounds 
  46. in the same locations as a General MIDI device 
  47. like the Roland Sound Canvas, you will not 
  48. hear the appropriate sound.

  50. If you have a slower 386 computer (less than 
  51. 20 MHz) and are running your video card in 256 
  52. colors, the animations and the playback of the 
  53. sound effect samples may be erratic. Try setting 
  54. your video card to 16 colors. This should 
  55. significantly speed up the program performance. 
  56. In some cases even relatively fast machines may
  57. be slowed down by a slow video card. 
  58.  
  59. If you notice that Sing-A-Long is slow and that there 
  60. seems to be a lot of hard disk access, you may have 
  61. Windows set to use a Temporary Swap File. Performance 
  62. of Sing-A-Long, and most other software as well, can be 
  63. significantly enhanced by setting virtual memory to use 
  64. a Permanent Swap File. This is a setting in the 386 
  65. Enhanced section of your Control Panel. Read your 
  66. Windows manual for instructions.

  68. Sound effects in the animations are not supported in 
  69. the Microsoft Windows Sound System version of Sing-A-Long,
  70. due to the limitations of the Windows Sound System.
