NEW FEATURES:
If you click the song icon in the file selector the
song will play. You can use this to audition a song
if you are not sure what it sounds like.
THE ESCAPE BUTTON:
Allows the user to skip the master of ceremonies
introduction as the program starts.
It also will cancel the Jukebox Mode with the list
of songs you have chosen.
ABOUT YOUR COMPUTER:
On machines with some older ATI Ultra video cards
there may be problems with transitions between
scenes in some of our animations when using the
1024x768 video drivers. Please contact ATI
Technologies for new video drivers. For your
convenience we had included a list of phone
numbers for video and sound board manufacturers
in the MPC Trouble Shooting Guide which came
with Sing-A-Long.
Sing-A-Long music files are not designed to play
through MIDI. The MIDI files in Sing-A-Long have
been optimized for the General MIDI standard.
If you have a device which does not have sounds
in the same locations as a General MIDI device
like the Roland Sound Canvas, you will not
hear the appropriate sound.
If you have a slower 386 computer (less than
20 MHz) and are running your video card in 256
colors, the animations and the playback of the
sound effect samples may be erratic. Try setting
your video card to 16 colors. This should
significantly speed up the program performance.
In some cases even relatively fast machines may
be slowed down by a slow video card.
If you notice that Sing-A-Long is slow and that there
seems to be a lot of hard disk access, you may have
Windows set to use a Temporary Swap File. Performance
of Sing-A-Long, and most other software as well, can be
significantly enhanced by setting virtual memory to use
a Permanent Swap File. This is a setting in the 386
Enhanced section of your Control Panel. Read your
Windows manual for instructions.
Sound effects in the animations are not supported in
the Microsoft Windows Sound System version of Sing-A-Long,
due to the limitations of the Windows Sound System.
