  16. Every fancied having a "different" Amiga EVERY time you booted up ?
  17.  
  18. R.A.S.P. "Random Amiga Settings Program" only requires three pieces of
  19. information to work. These are;-
  20.  
  21.         Source Directory
  22.         WildCards (MulTiSearCh) i.e. no need for *.* or #?
  23.         Destination Directory and Filename
  24.  
  25. In the Source Directory, RASP can read upto 500 entries per "3 pieces of
  26. information". Once run, RASP will plough through a text file (see  below)
  27. actioning 3 pieces of information at once until the end of the text file
  28. has been reached or an error occurred - in which case RASP will end and
  29. control will return back to your Amiga. PLEASE NOTE: RASP is pretty much
  30. crash proof. It won't crash because of your setup, if anything it will only
  31. tell you what piece of information was processed last before the crash
  32. thus helping you debug your config file.

  40. What is it?
  41.  
  42. It is a CLI program that reads in three pieces of information at a time.
  43. These are;-    (1)    Source Directory (must have / at end)
  44.                 
  45.             (2)    Wildcards (use one space for ALL files or in-string
  46.                 search for wildcards i.e. IFF/SND or JPG will pick all
  47.                 IFF/SND or JPG files.)

  49.             (3)    Destination Directory and Destination Filename
  50.                 i.e. Data:Pics/defaultWBbackground.Pic
  51.  
  52. and its bloody fast! (uses AmigaDOS Copy command for copying, so if you
  53. want RASP to turn into a random DELETER! then replace your AmigaDOS copy
  54. command with DELETE or any other command you fancy! i.e. have a random
  55. animation play)

  58. Why would I want to use RASP?
  59.  
  60. Coz yer could have random boot pics with PICBOOT
  61. Coz yer could have random Wb Backdrop, pattern or program pics
  62. Coz yer could have random Animation on bootup
  63. Coz yer could have random WORMS levels/samples on bootup!
  64. Coz yer could have random BBS ANSI screens!
  65. Coz yer could have random RASP script files! Wow!
  66. Coz yer could have ANYTHING random !!!!

  68.     Holds upto 500 objects PER directory for randomisation !!!!!!
  69.                     UNLIMITED DIRECTORIES!!!!

  74. Chuck it somewhere in yer Startup-Sequence or User-Startup.

  76. (I put it in after setpatch and before PICBOOT and IPREFS)

  78. The only argument required is the script file location (file enclosed).

  81. example on how to make a random WorkBench Backdrop script.

  84. Copy a picture and rename it to WBBACK.PIC and put it anywhere you want.

  86. In WBPATTERN (prefs) choose the above picture.

  88. Have a directory of pictures, datatypes only relevant if yer have 'em
  89. so just put in pictures that yer datatypes support.

  91. In the script file, the first three lines should be for the above;-

  93. HD1:PICTURES/
  94. IFF
  95. HD0:THE_DIRECTORY_AND_NAME_OF_THE_WBBACK.PIC

  97. Thats It! Simple.

  105. (2) Wildcards (space for ALL anything else for in-string search)
