********************************************************************************
About:
WebCam was written so I could watch all the neat "real time" web camera's.
There are some very good scripts around for use with IRC, But I wanted to
have a bit more control over what is happening.
Installing:
Unpack the WebCam archive to any directory. Thats it.
Dont copy WebCam.library to libs:
Usage:
From a shell, CD to the directory WebCam is in. Then type:
WebCam SCREEN=<screen> <screen> being the screen you want it to open on.
From Workbench, set the SCREEN tooltype to the screen you want WebCam to
open on, double click on the icon.
WebCam will default to its own public screen if it cant open on any
others. This screen will attempt to open as 256 colors, HighRes Laced.
Once the prefs window is open, you can set a few config options to suit
your needs. Click on the "Servers" tab and double click on a site name in
the listbrowser. WebCam will then try to connect to that site and open a
viewing window to display the image. You can connect to as many sites as
you have room on your screen to view them. Sit back and enjoy!
To save the current image in the selected viewing window, RMB click and
select "Save Current Image". This will save the current image to Ram:
To force an update on the current image, RMB click and select "Force
Update" or RightAmiga U.
Requiments:
AmigaOS 3.x (for datatype's).
Classact 2.0 (for the GUI).
Internet account/connection.
Future:
Depending on demand/feedback:
More config options.
More sites.
Faster image drawing.
Menu item to jump the active viewing window to differant screens.
HTTPD AUTH support for the "pay per view" sites.
Local video digitizing and display.
Video "stream" support.
Hints:
Dont adjust the preset "update time"'s, most sites only update the image n
seconds, so updating before that is wasting time and bandwidth, and might
even cause that site to close down due to abuse.
Run WebCam on a high color screen like 256 colors. The drawing might be
slower, but the images do look much better.
Dont copy WebCam.library to libs:
Bugs:
Doesnt appear to display colors on cybergfx screens. Fault unknown.
Probabally many other bugs too.
Changing pages in the prefs after a site has been added, or when changing
pages after a site has been selected will cause the same action to happen.
This is a minor bug in page.gadget and will be fixed soon.

This software is "shareware" meaning if you find any sites I dont have in the
preset "WebCam.config" file, I would like to know about them. :)
