Short: PPC Doom Compile for WarpOS V0.6
Author: MagicSN@Birdland.es.bawue.de
Uploader: MagicSN@Birdland.es.bawue.de
Type: game/shoot
Replaces: game/demo/ZhaDoom.lha
ZhaDoom is a Doom Compile for PPC. It needs WarpOS,
the PPC Software from Haage&Partner, and rtgmaster PPC.
The binaries of rtgmaster PPC are included to this archive.
The people involved in this port are:
Me (of course), Trance (author of AmigaDoom), Michael Rock,
Sam Jordan
Get also Crystal 3D PPC from Jyrki Saarinens WWW Site, my
port of the Crystalspace 3D Engine (i am
not sure about the licensing conditions of the thing, because
of that i did not upload it to Aminet). To find the site,
go to www.amigaflame.co.uk, get the link to the Homepage of
the Game demo Lambda. From there get to the Homepage of
Jyrki Saarinen (there is a link found there). Crystal 3D PPC
is also a WarpOS program :)))
Changes from 0.5->0.6:
- PPC-only Hires-Modes (480x200,640x200,640x400) added
- IPX- and Direct-Link Support added (thanks to the
free documentation about how to implement such a thing
in the form of the ADoom Sources, thanks, Peter McGavin,
for releasing them :) )
Changes from 0.3->0.5:
- Added Support to OPTIONALLY run ZhaDoom in a WB Window
(if at least rtgmaster V33 is installed), WB Window GFX Code
is PPC Optimized (for 68k it is quite slow, try it on
PPC + GFX Board, really playable, even two Dooms at
the same time work... but that again slows down...)
- Some bugfixes and such stuff
Changes from 0.24->0.3:
- Included Sound Support (when Sound is enabled, the fps are
a bit reduced, though)
- The Status text is now printed during the start of the game,
not after the end, like in earlier versions
- fixed a major problem in memory allocation (this was also
why sound did not run), possible that it enhances other
things also
Changes from 0.2->0.24:
- Mouse Support (activated with -mouse)
- Joystick/Joypad Support (needs lowlevel.library, act. with -joy)
- Checks now, if WarpOS is installed, and gives an error message,
if not
- some small Optimizations/Bugfixes (runs 36-37 fps on 150 MHz,
reported to run 47 fps on 200 MHz)
- fps calculation (dividing the two ticrates, and multiplying the
result with 35) automatically done now
