  6. This  library  contains  all the virus recognition and removal code that was
  7. formerly included in VirusZ.  This step has been taken for one major reason:
  8. VirusZ can be updated fast without releasing the whole package every week by
  9. simply releasing a new library version.
  10.  
  11. In  the  future,  I  may release the full documentation (autodocs, includes,
  12. etc.),  but  I'm  still  not sure about that.  Although the library has been
  13. protected  against  unauthorized  modifications  quite  well, it's still too
  14. dangerous  for me to tell everyone in the world how it works.  There are far
  15. too  many  idiots  around  who  have too much spare time and too destructive
  16. ideas.

  18. So  simply  install the library in this archive to your LIBS:  drawer to get
  19. 100% protection against the latest viruses.

  35.     - Finally I contacted Soenke Freitag of VTC Hamburg and asked him to
  36.       send me the old but still missing viruses from their test. I added
  37.       the following viruses until now:
  38.       AHM Keymaker 1.1, BBS Blieb6, Miami Fake, BBS MegaMon, DumDum 2,
  39.       BBS CLP/InspectorX, BootX Updater, Buzz Bomb MKI, Hexer/Bea 1,
  40.       Hexer/Bea 2, Hexer/Bea 3, Conman Format,  Compuphagozyte 13,
  41.       Disk.info Bomb, Joshua 3 and Christmas Violator.
  42.       There are still more to come, I will add them (hopefully) in the
  43.       following 2 or 3 weeks.
  44.       Special thanks go to Soenke Freitag for the good cooperation and
  45.       all the work he had with sending me the virus collection.
  46.       Thanks must go to Markus Schmall and Jan Andersen too for giving
  47.       Soenke the permission to submit the viruses to me (most of them
  48.       were NDA).

  57.     - Added bootblock viruses: AHC, Gadaffi 2, Virus Slayer 6.12.
  58.     - Added recognition for files damaged by Lisa FuckUp 2.0.
  59.     - Fixed removal code for ZIB linkvirus. Now detects all files that
  60.       have been infected by the installer directly.
  61.     - Added recognition for Doom_CLX Trojan, CompuPhagoLink and
  62.       X-Ripper 1.1.

  64.     Special thanks for sending all the above mentioned viruses are going
  65.     to Jan Andersen. VirusZ did not recognize these viruses at the time
  66.     when the VTC-Test 1998 took place, therefore the ranking of VirusZ
  67.     in this test would be even better right now.
