  23. About the scheme
  24. ----------------

  26. Since 1993 InterActive has offered a convenient way to register 
  27. non-commercial software. The scheme was launched by Joe Connor to 
  28. encourage 'foreign' authors to produce and support English language 
  29. versions of their software AND to encourage UK users to register 'foreign' 
  30. software.
  31. InterActive continues to expand and currently supports over 50 
  32. non-commercial titles and 23 different authors with around 2000 registered 
  33. users. The authors deserve your support and feedback so if you're 
  34. regularly using any unregistered software please register today - you 
  35. nearly always get something extra in return:

  39. - Free update service
  40. - No hassle handling foreign currency
  41. - Labelled Master disk and registration letter

  43. Registration fees are set to cover the currency handling, stationary, 
  44. media and postage costs incurred in mailing out master disks and providing 
  45. support.
  46. Although primarily a UK support scheme everyone is welcome to register via 
  47. InterActive as an alternative to registering directly with the author/s.

  99. How to register from inside the UK
  100. ----------------------------------
  101. 1) Use the included ORDER_FM.TXT to select the required software
  102. 2) Make sure your name and address is included and *legible*!
  103. 3) Make cheques/POs payable to InterActive for the total amount
  104. 4) Send the completed order form and payment to InterActive
  105.  
  106. Additionally from outside the UK
  107. --------------------------------
  108. - Add £1 to your order total to cover postage
  109. - Make certain payment is *in Sterling* drawn on a *UK* bank address
  110.   The following methods are known to work:
  111.   -Bank draft/cheque
  112.   -Eurocheque
  113.   -International Post Office cheque payable *in Sterling*
  114.   -Cash! Sterling, Dollars and DMs are fine -but at your own risk!

  116. Country specific information

  118. Canada:    Canadian Post Office money orders made out in *Sterling* are 
  119.            perfect and inexpensive!
  120. Australia: Please visit your Post Office and get a money order made out in 
  121. and NZ     *Sterling*.
  122. France:    For some reason I'm getting a number of local cheques (i.e. 
  123.            written in Sterling but drawn on a french bank address.
  124.            I can accept these but they cost £5 to negoiate so you must add 
  125.            an extra £5 to your order total.
  126. Europe:    In general Post Office money orders or Eurocheques are the best 
  127.            way to pay.
  128. USA:       What a nightmare! Can I suggest a day trip to a Canadian post 
  129.            office? I've seen everything from Amex travellers cheques (add 
  130.            £5 to order total), local cheques (no can do), cash (fine -but 
  131.            at your own risk). An International money order (add £5 to 
  132.            order total) made out in Sterling drawn on a UK banking address 
  133.            is currently the best solution.
