- There are a few pointers you should keep in mind when choosing an ISP:
- 1. Choose a local ISP. An ISP, which is only a local phone call
- away will reduce your telephone expenses.
- 2. Choose the ISP that has the payment system that best suits
- your needs.
- There are three possibilities:
- - a set monthly fee, no matter how long you're connected
- - a set fee for a limited amount of connection time,
- and an extra hourly charge for time beyond that limit.
- - a set hourly charge.
- 3. Choose the ISP with the fastest access rates.
- Using a 28,800 bps. modem on your computer will not
- make much of a difference if your ISP provides a slower
- access rate.
