  1. There are a few pointers you should keep in mind when choosing an ISP:
  2. 1. Choose a local ISP. An ISP, which is only a local phone call
  3.      away will reduce your telephone expenses.
  4. 2. Choose the ISP that has the payment system that best suits
  5.      your needs.
  6. There are three possibilities:
  7. - a set monthly fee, no matter how long you're connected
  8. - a set fee for a limited amount of connection time, 
  9.   and an extra hourly charge for time beyond that limit.
  10. - a set hourly charge.
  11. 3.  Choose the ISP with the fastest access rates. 
  12.       Using a 28,800 bps. modem on your computer will not 
  13.       make much of a difference if your ISP provides a slower
  14.       access rate.
