  3. autoEqualize --- automatically equalize an image

  6. DESCRIPTION

  8. The autoEqualize operator performs automatic image contrast enhancement by 
  9. computing an equalization interval based on the input integer image intensity 
  10. frequency distribution. The interval is determined by searching the image 
  11. histogram from both extremes such that two extrema are found which represent 
  12. more than a certain percentage of the total image area. The percentage is 
  13. controlled through the fraction parameter. Allowable range is 0-100.
