  6. Arrow Action is a MS-Windows utility that position the mousearrow
  7. automatically at certain windows-objects during work with MS-Windows.
  8. Ecpecially usefull for lap-tops.

  14. Download/copy/place Arrow Action files (look further down)
  15. to wherever you like.
  16. All the files must stay in the same directory.
  17. Works right away.
  18. No extra installation needed.
  19. Suggested storing directory: c:\arrowact
  20. Arrow Action does not touch other MS-Windows files (like ini-files etc...).

  51. When opening and closing dialogboxes, automatic cursor movement will take
  52. place if 'Move Mousearrow' is enabled. Cursor is then positioned
  53. according to the settings of 'Positiontype' and 'Returntype'.
  54.  
  55. There exist 4 position types.
  56.     1 = First Pushbutton in dialogbox.
  57.     2 = First object with focus in dialogbox (editfield, listbox, pushbutton..).
  58.     3 = Centerposition in dialogbox.
  59.     4 = First object that is not a pushbutton.
  60. There exist 3 return types.
  61.     1 = No returnposition.
  62.     2 = On closing dialobox, return to previous position.
  63.     3 = Centerposition in returnwindow.

  65. It is also possible to get an idea on how much armmovement is done by activating
  66. 'Measurebox'. Measurebox is a small 'always on top' window that constantly shows
  67. armmovement that is done with the mouse. For this to work properly, correct
  68. Screensize has to be set. The field 'Arrow/Mouse quotient' is by default set to
  69. 0.100. This is a estimated value of the fraction between handmovement at the
  70. desk and arrow movement at the screen. Reserach suggest that it is only
  71. neccessary to move the hand at the table 1/10 of the actual movement at the
  72. screen. For the measurebox to show 'real' handmovement at the table, the field
  73. 'Arrow/Mouse quotient' should be set to 0.100. For the measurebox to show 
  74. arrowmovement at the screen, the field should be set to 1.000. The user can himself
  75. experiment with this by setting a quotient of his own and that might reflect this
  76. relationship better.

  79. The numbers in the measurebox-window is:
  80.     Total movement     (Red. Sum of Yellow and Green).
  81.     Actual movement (Yellow. What is actually measured)
  82.     Saved movement    (Green)
  83.     Percentage    (Saved armmovement (green) in percent of total
  84.              movement (red).)

  86. The numbers always reflects the 'Measurement' field in 'International' in
  87. 'Control Panel'. When 'Feet', the numbers shows feet. When 'Meters', the
  88. number shows meters.

  90. The measurebox measuring can also be activated/deactiavted.
  91. The measuring can also be reset.
  92.  
  93. 'Saved armmovement' (green) is measured by accumulating automatic
  94. cursormovement, set by postitiontype and returntype, by calculating 
  95. the real movement (straight line) that the cursor moves on the screen, from the
  96. original position to the position the cursor is moved to. The saved
  97. armmovement is reflected in the Number outside the green color in the
  98. Measurebox window and in the percentage number.

  100. 'Actual movement' is measured by drawing the diagonal between two x,y-points
  101. at the screen that the mousedriver tells the system. Arrow Action then
  102. intercepts this information and calculates the distance.

  105. Known anomalies
  106. ---------------

  108. Arrow Action works when opening and closing dialogboxes. However. All
  109. dialogboxes, that looks like dialoboxes, is not really 'dialogboxes' in 
  110. an internal way. In 'dialogboxes' like this, Arrow Action will at the
  111. moment, not work.
