Introduction:

        Since you  started  using  CorelDRAW!,  You probably
have  noticed,  that  some  features  are  not   made   very
convinient,  and  some  features  are  not  present  at all.
Usually you wait for the next version of the program to come
out,  and hope that what you want will come true. Now you'll
never have to wait for anything again!
        Today we  introduce  you  to  PowerDRAW!  series was
developed to enchance the existing features  of  CorelDRAW!,
and to create new ones.  All the programs in this series are
developed by people that have big expirience in working with
the  product  itself or by users' order.  The program called
CLIPFINDER, is the first program from the PowerDRAW! series.


Description of program CLIPFINDER:

As You know every professionaly developed CDR file  contains
keywords.  Keywords  always give the clearest explanation of
the related image.  Search by keyword is much more  flexible
because  You  could  focus  on "what you want" and not think
about filenames.  This is  faster  than  search  in  picture
reference  book  because  same  in meaning pictures could be
located in different themes. CorelDRAW!, of course, supports
search  by  keyword,  but  it has a VERY SAD DISADVANTAGE --
EXTRA LOW SEARCH SPEED. Our testings show: search on a CDROM
that contained more than 9000 images took over 30(!) minutes
of valuable time.  Also you won't even be able to  stop  the
search, not to mention not being able to switch to any other
task. It is not very convinient for users, especially if you
need to find several pictures fast.
 CLIPFINDER radically solves that problem. It actually makes
search  by  keyword  useful  and  convinient.  When  you use
CLIPFINDER,  search takes only several seconds! This is made
possible  because  CLIPFINDER  uses principial diferent
technology from CorelDRAW!'s, it once scans all the .CDR files
and creates a database  of keywords and a database of filenames
where they are found.  After that,  the  search  is  performed
in  the created  database  and  the ammount of data that needs
to be scanned is reduced 300 times.

Installation:

        To enjoy this program you need to have  Windows  3.1
or later.  Program distributed in ZIP archive.  All you need
to  do,  is  unpack  files  (use  PKUNZIP   or   equvivalent
aplication)  and  place  it  into any directory on your hard
disk. After that you should run CLIP.EXE from Windows. First
CLIPFINDER  shows  you the introduction picture,  and offers
you to start the installation.  To speed up the  search,  as
said before,  CLIPFINDER creates databases. You need to have
enough disk space. Data bases created from .CDR files from 2
CDROMS that come with CorelDRAW! 4.0 take up more than 3.5MB
of hard disk space.  Program will ask you for the  directory
where you want to place the databases,  and also the path to
.CDR   files.   Program   automatically   scans   all    the
subdirectories   of   the  directory  you  appointed.  After
CLIPFINDER finishes the scanning,  it offers you to  appoint
another  directory.  During that time you can insert another
CDROM disk.  If you don't want to add any  more  files,  You
simply click on CANCEL.  After you finished, the database is
created,  and you  can  start  using  CLIPFINDER  simply  by
running it again.

Using CLIPFINDER:

        After you run CLIPFINDER you see its main window. To
search by keyword,  you first need to enter it, and click on
SEARCH  button (or Enter key).  The results of the search in
form:  the whole keyword plus  the  filename  containing  it
appear in the Keyword / File list box.
        You don't  necessarely  need  to  enter  the   whole
keyword,  you  just  need to enter its part and program will
find all the words containing that part.  Example: You enter
word  CAT  and  get  files with keyword CAT as well as files
with keyword DOG AND CAT.
        Program is not case sensetive, so feel free to enter
it any way you like.  Program limits the  ammount  of  items
found  by  1024.  If  you  enter a keyword that is found too
often or a very short part of it, you may exceed that limit.
Example: Search by keyword COREL. (This word is contained by
all the images created by Corel company)

ReInstallation:

If you want to change the database you are using You need to
use  a  text  editor  (NOTEPAD.EXE)  to  remove [CLIPFINDER]
section in your win.ini file.

Comaptibility:

This programm carefully tested for compatibility.
Now it compatible fith followed file formats:

1) CorelDRAW 3.0
2) CorelDRAW 4.0
3) CorelDRAW 5.0
4) CorelDRAW 5.0 Corel Binary Meta File (.CMX)

Distribution:

        All programs  in  this  series  are  distributed  as
shareware.  It  means,  that  you  can  get new versions and
upgrades,  and also technical support directly from  authors
of  the programs.  Distribution as shareware also means that
if one of the programs  in  this  series  was  not  to  your
liking,  you  don't have to pay anything for it.  But if you
continue using the program for two or more  weeks,  you  are
welcome to register it.

Registration:

        If you  like  a program,  any program in this series
you can register it.  All the users,  for example, that have
registered  CLIPFINDER  will  get  its  new version and also
several additional  programs  from  the  PowerDRAW!  series.
Registered  users  will  be  notifited about new versions of
products  and  get  a  free  technical  support.  About  the
CLIPFINDER  registration  procedure  and features of the new
version read file REGINFO.TXT.
