  97. read after installation.

  103. Disk Piecharter is a shareware program.  This evaluation version
  104. includes all features of the program, and is not crippled in any way.

  106. more details).  If you like the program, and wish to continue its use

  108. (see HELP for more details).  Any fee you may have paid to

  134. The installation procedure for the Disk Piecharter is quite simple. The
  135. package includes a program, "SETUP.EXE", which automates the entire
  136. process. You will need about 300KB of available disk space on the hard
  137. drive on which you plan to install Disk Piecharter.

  139. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  140. Disk Piecharter.

  143. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  144.  
  145. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  146.  
  147.    o  Make sure Windows 3.1 or better is running.
  148.  
  149.    o  Place Disk Piecharter distribution diskette in the appropriate
  150.       diskette drive.
  151.  
  152.    o  Execute the "SETUP.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  153.       For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, choose
  154.       "File/Run..." from the program manager menu and enter "a:setup".
  155.  
  156.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  157.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  158.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
  159.       program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy
  160.       the Disk Piecharter files to that directory.  In the second phase
  161.       of the installation, a Windows Help file is shown. Here you can
  162.       choose a language and perform the actual installation of Disk
  163.       Piecharter in the Filemanager menu. To do so it makes some changes
  164.       to the WINFILE.INI file. It will make no other changes;
  165.       specifically, it will not modify your autoexec.bat or config.sys
  166.       files.

  169. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  170.  
  171. If you downloaded Disk Piecharter from a BBS (or received it in the form
  172. of archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  173. following steps.
  174.  
  175.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a directory on your
  176.       hard drive.  We suggest you name this directory "DISKPCH". The
  177.       procedure for doing this varies, depending on the form in which
  178.       you received the package. In all likelihood, the fact that you are
  179.       reading this text means that you already have the necessary tools
  180.       and knowledge to perform this step.  If not, you should be able to
  181.       obtain directions for this from the same source from which you
  182.       received the package.

  184.    o  Execute the "README.HLP" program which you have extracted. You can
  185.       do so by locating the file on the directory where you extracted
  186.       the archive using the filemanager and by double-clicking on this
  187.       file.

  189.    o  Follow the instructions presented by this help text. Note that
  190.       when clicking the 'Install' button, the WINFILE.INI file will be
  191.       modified.
