│ This is a VENDINFO Product Information Record │
│ │
│ This record is a means of conveying information about a software │
│ product from the author to distributors and users. It contains a │
│ normal, "human-readable" section (you're reading it now), followed │
│ by a compressed data record. The data record contains a great │
│ deal of information in a form useable by automated tools. This │
│ allows BBSes, disk vendors, etc. to test automatically for │
│ permission to distribute, and to automatically extract product │
│ information for use in BBS files databases, vendor catalogs, etc. │
│ │
│ The VENDINFO file standard is published and is freely useable. │
│ │
│ The VENDINFO toolset includes a free end-user viewer, processing │
│ tools for use by distributors (BBSes, shareware disk vendors, │
│ etc.), and the editor used by author/publishers to produce these │
│ records. These tools are either free or very-low cost shareware. │
│ The toolset can be obtained from many sources, including the │
│ originators of VENDINFO: │

===== Installation =====================================
Copy the file NMFW14xe.ZIP to a new directory (e.g. c:\nmfw) and unzip
the file (pkunzjr 2.04g). After doing that, you can remove the file
NMFW14e.ZIP.
You can drag the RRKMENU.EXE from the File-Manager to a Group-Window in
the Program-Manager.
The file RRKMENU.EXE is the program.
When you start the New Menus for Windows 1.4 for the first time, the
program will copy some files into to the Windows-system directory (e.g.
c:\windows\system). It will copy the files RRKMNDLL.DLL, BWCC.DLL and
BWCC009.DLL into this directory. After that, New Menus for Windows 1.4
will extract the information of the installed programs in the
Program-Manager and write it in a new file PROGMAN.MNU in the directory,
where you installed New Menus for Windows 1.4.
Important: The files RRKMNDLL.DLL and BWCC*.DLL must be in the Windows
system directory. Otherwise you can't run the Menu as the windows shell.
If the installation routine failed, you may copy these files manually
into your Windows system directory.
After starting the program, push the right mouse button!! I have
pre-configured the menu. Probably You have a drive "c:\". Otherwise You
have to change the corresponding menuitem. See in the help file
RRKMENG.HLP for more hints.
How to uninstall
Delete the directory in which you install the NMFW14e.ZIP-package. You
can also delete the file RRKMNDLL.DLL in your Windows system directory
That's it.
===== Warranty =========================================
Users of New Menus for Windows 1.4 must accept this disclaimer of
warranty:
"New Menus for Windows 1.4 is supplied as is. The author disclaims all
warranties, expressed or implied, including, without limitation, the
warranties of merchantability and of fitness for any purpose. The author
assumes no liability for damages, direct or consequential, which may
result from the use of New Menus for Windows 1.4."
===== License for Use and Distribution =================
New Menus for Windows 1.4 is a "shareware program" and is provided at no
charge to the user for evaluation. Feel free to share it with your
friends, but please do not give it away altered or as part of another
system. The essence of "user-supported" software is to provide personal
computer users with quality software without high prices, and yet to
provide incentive for programmers to continue to develop new products.
If you find this program useful and find that you are using New Menus
for Windows 1.2 and continue to use New Menus for Windows 1.2 after a
reasonable trial period (30 days), you must make a registration payment
of $20 US to Dipl. Ing. Roger Rene Kommer. The $20 US registration fee
will license one copy for use on any one computer at any one time. You
must treat this software just like a book. An example is that this
software may be used by any number of people and may be freely moved
from one computer location to another, so long as there is no
possibility of it being used at one location while it's being used at
another. Just as a book cannot be read by two different persons at the
same time.
Commercial users of New Menus for Windows 1.4 must register and pay for
their copies of New Menus for Windows 1.4 within 30 days of first use or
their license is withdrawn. Site-License arrangements may be made by
contacting Roger Rene Kommer.
