  15. Overview
  16. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  17. The ScrapBoard is a shareware program (utility) expected to 
  18. speed up your work -- document, spreadsheet, drawing and
  19. source code creation, etc.
  20. The ScrapBoard allows you to make files of your mostly used 
  21. data -- pieces of (formatted) text, pictures, spreadsheets,
  22. bitmaps, etc. -- and RETRIEVE and COPY these data over
  23. clipboard to another application VERY QUICKLY.  Once you
  24. have created a ScrapBoard file, program allows you to edit data,
  25. use multiple views to data, delete data, etc.  Except that,
  26. the ScrapBoard can be used like tool organising your (formatted)
  27. data (database of addresses, pictures database, etc.).

  29. The ScrapBoard can SAVE you from these (and some other) PROBLEMS:
  30.  
  31.    1) You want to copy some piece of data (text, e.g.)
  32.       to your document, but you do not remember where it is.
  33.    2) You want to copy some piece of data to your 
  34.       document but retrieving of these data takes pretty 
  35.       long time.
  36.    3) When you want to copy multiple types of data
  37.       (text, picture, bitmap, spreadsheet, etc.) you
  38.       have to run several applications and open several
  39.       files.
  40.    4) You are using some phrase very frequently, but when
  41.       you want to use it again you have to search for it 
  42.       in the document, copy it to the clipboard, move cursor
  43.       to the desired position and paste it. Pretty slow,
  44.       isn't it?

  46. The ScrapBoard offers you these ADVANTAGES:
  47.  
  48.    1) The ScrapBoard allows you to retrieve and copy data
  49.       to the clipboard very quickly.
  50.    2) The ScrapBoard allows you to create files of your 
  51.       mostly used data very easy.
  52.    3) The ScrapBoard allows you to collect data of different
  53.       nature (texts, pictures, bitmaps, spreadsheets, etc.).
  54.       For example, if you have several templates of your documents 
  55.       and drawings in a several formats (Word, PowerPoint, CorelDraw,
  56.       elc.) you can concentrate all these templates to the one
  57.       file - ScrapBoard file.
  58.    4) The ScrapBoard can save data in any format.
  59.    5) The ScrapBoard is native and interactive.

  62. Installation
  63. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  64. To install the ScrapBoard application to your system run
  65. install.exe program. Before you start installation see
  66. the requirements and read help in the installation program.

  68. Note: It is not necessary to install ScrapBoard using installation
  69.       program. It is also possible to copy all files from the
  70.       installation disk to a directory and the scrapboard.ini
  71.       file to Windows directory (ussualy C:\WINDOWS).

  73. The sample files sample1.zip and sample2.zip unzip with 
  74. the parameter -d.  This is important because data has 
  75. hierarchical structure!

  78. Requirements
  79. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  81.    - Windows 3.1 or later
  82.    - 400 Kbytes on your hard drive
  83. *  - ctl3dv2.dll library 
  84.

  86. *Note: If the system directory of your Windows (usually 
  87.        C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM) doesn't contain the ctl3dv2.dll yet,
  88.        than copy the ctl3dv2.dll there.The ctl3dv2.dll file 
  89.        is on the installation disk but it is not copied to your 
  90.        hard drive during the installation automatically.
  91.        Neither installation program nor the ScrapBoard cannont
  92.        run without this library.
