- USER-SUPPORTED SOFTWARE
-
- User-supported software, which is also known as Shareware,
- is an experiment in microcomputer software distribution based on
- the following principles:
-
- 1. That the value or worth of a program is best judged by the
- individual user using the program on his/her own machine.
-
- 2. That the creation and distribution of microcomputer software
- can be financially supported by users at reasonable cost.
-
- 3. That the copying and sharing of software can and is
- encouraged.
-
- Anyone may request a copy of a user-supported program by
- sending a blank, formatted disk to the author of the program. An
- addressed, postage-paid return mailer must accompany the disk (no
- exceptions, please). A copy of the program, with documentation on
- the disk, will be sent by return mail. The program will carry a
- notice suggesting a contribution to the program's author. Making
- a contribution is completely voluntary.
-
- Free distribution of software and voluntary payment for its
- use eliminates costs for advertising and copy protection schemes.
- Users obtain quality software at reduced cost. They can try it
- out before buying, and do so at their own pace and in the comfort
- of their own home or office. The best programs will survive based
- purely on their quality and usefulness.
-
- Please join the experiment. If you share a belief in these
- principles, your contribution is requested to help make this
- work. Regardless of whether you make a contribution, you are
- encouraged to copy and share this program.
-
-
- PERMISSION TO COPY
-
- Individuals, clubs, and other non-profit organizations are
- granted permission by the authors to freely copy this program and
- documentation and share it with their members, so long as:
-
- 1. No price is charged for the software or documentation.
- However, a distribution, copying cost or charge for the cost of
- the diskette, so long as it is not more than $6.00 total.
-
- 2. Club members be informed of the user-supported idea and
- encouraged to support it with their donations.
-
- 3. The program(s) or documentation are not modified in any way
- and they are distributed together.
-
-
-
-
-
- Your Contribution
-
- Please send your contribution, $10 is suggested for the
- Hangman series (Hangman, Children's Hangman and Hangman Two).
- Also please send your name address, version number, diskette size
- and info on where you received your copy of the program to the
- following:
-
- James Huckabey
- 3621-A Fraser Street
- Bellingham, WA 98226

- Hangman Two
-
- This is a multiple player version of Hangman. Up to fifteen
- people can play at one time. One person enters up to twelve

- guess the letters in the mystery word. Each miss adds one part to
- the gallows or the man who is hung if you guess a wrong letter
- for the eleventh time. Each correct letter guess displays each of
- the occurrences of the letter and can only be chosen one time.
- Letters not found in the mystery word can be guessed more than
- one time so be careful on the letters.

- <4> View Info/Help Screen
-
- The help screen is just that, a help screen. It contains
- some of the basic information about the program. The program can
- be run just fine by either reading it or not. The program can be
- run without even reading this document. I try to put as much
- information on the screen as possible. It does not contain a lot

-
- <5> Sound is ON
-
- Press <5> from the Hangman Menu and the menu displays the
- current status of the Sound option. If it is ON it is turned OFF.
- If it is OFF it is turn ON. This controls all program sounds from
- the warning tones, to the input tones, to the various tones. This
- option was added for those people who do not like the speaker to
- make any noise or are using the program at work and they do not
- want their boss to know it.
-
-
-
-
-
- <6> Exit The Program
-
- Press <6> from the Hangman Two Menu and the program ends. If
- you have a color system the program ends with a blue background
- and you want it cleared away you have to type in `CLS' and press
- <ENTER> at your DOS prompt to clear it. I did not clear to DOS's
- default colors of 7,0,0 or you might have to do a CLS on a black
- background. Everyone is not using the same colors. I use the
- default Gray on Black on my system for all DOS work and White on
- Blue in most application programs.
