  3. UW2E24.EXE is a character editor for the Ultima Underworld II game.

  5. IMPORTANT CHANGES SINCE VERSION 2.3:
  6.  
  7. The editor now resides in the main UW2 directory instead of the save game
  8. directory, and popup menus assist the user in making certain selections 
  9. such as editing Runes and choosing files.
  10.  
  11. HOW TO USE IT:
  12.  
  13. Put the file UW2E24.EXE in your main Underworld II directory e.g C:\UW2.
  14. Run the program. That's it. Now run the game and your character 
  15. should be as you edited it.

  17. I sugest that you keep values down to reasonable levels since I don't 
  18. know what the game does if it sees super high values. Swimming skill is
  19. a known problem if you set it above 30 or so; otherwise you can probably 
  20. get away with maximum levels if you feel you need it that bad. 
  21. Remember, this program is intended for fine-tuning your character, 
  22. so you can enhance your enjoyment of the game. You may not have as much 
  23. fun if you make yourself to powerful.

  25. WHAT IT DOES:

  27. This program edits your player.dat files which are in your save1, save2...
  28. directories. Since Origin used a special encryption method with these files, 
  29. the editor works by decrypting the chosen player.dat file and then encrypting
  30. it back again after you finish editing.

  34. Let me know if you figure out the "unknown" bytes so I can update the 
  35. editor.
