                            The Great War - Part III

 Because of the onset of winter, the search for the rebels has become
 increasingly difficult, as the gnomish flying machines can't handle the
 cold very well and now can only be used for short range recon. The leaders
 of the southern search teams assumed incorrectly that the rebels would seek
 shelter and cease all military activities until spring. This allowed their
 forces to cross the frozen Crystal Lake unnoticed and set up ballistae for
 the siege of the garrison there. At the same time, a small band of armed
 warriors invaded the farming establishments to the south, slaughtering all
 the peasants working there. The garrison is now without food, and the troops
 stationed there are slowly starving to death.
 You must lead peasants into the garrison and quickly build farms to feed the
 starving troops. Then you must somehow break the siege to the north. But be
 careful, the rebels are probably stationed in the captured farms to the south
 and will probably attempt to strike the garrison with troops while the
 ballistae pen it in from the north.
 If we lose the strategic military point then Sirith will be subject to attack
 and we won't be able to muster our forces in time during these cold winter
 months.
