  2. >Help on the language files for LINGOMASTER.

  4. The files in the language directory contain the text files which set up the 
  5. accents.
  6.  
  7. >French: The accents are all the small letter ones, as capitals do not need
  8. accents.
  9.  
  10. >German: All the necessary accents, plus the division sign which I have used
  11. as an alternative for the line with an umlaut in plurals, eg:
  12.  
  13.   der Bahnhof (÷e)  (where the plural is die Bahnhöfe). See supplied files.

  15. >Latin: Not a complicated file - there aren't any accents. The file is just
  16. there to facilitate the loading of Latin vocab files.

  18. >Italian: I have put in the accents I think are needed, upper + lower case;
  19. no promises though - I don't speak very good Italian (I think that translates
  20. Non parlo bene l'italiano!).

  22. Creating a new language (!!)

  25. To set up a new language:
  26.  
  27.    1> Load Edit and click on the icon.
  28.    2> Type the full name of the language and press RETURN.
  29.    3> Enter the accents in order in which you want them stored (ie. F1 first)
  30.       followed by RETURN. Hint: Use Chars/NewChars/NewChars2/ImpChars (all PD
  31.       programs) to aid entering.
  32.    4> Save it with a filename <10 chars in the Language directory.
  33.    5> Create a directory within the 'Vocab' directory with a suitable name.
  34.       Check your User Guide if you are unsure how to do this. Registered
  35.       users can write to me for help.
