By pressing the Diamond key you will see a table of contents. Move to the chapter you want and press the Diamond key again.
Anybody wanting to give me tips on converting PIC files to and from PCX, BMP, and GIFS, please feel free to get in touch. Same goes for anyone that can tell me how to create a font file. I may even give free registration codes to the people that give me the best tips.

Installing.
To install Palmtop Picasso, you should place the files in the following directories:
EXAMPLE.PIC M:\PICASSO\PICS\
README.WRD M:\WRD\
Picasso.OPA ?:\APP\
All other files ?:\APP\PICASSO\
(? indicates which drive you want to use, i.e. "M/A/B")
When used for the first time, the following directories are created:
M:\PICASSO\PICS\ Default directory for files.
M:\PICASSO\ATTACH\ Default directory for attachments.
M:\PICASSO\SYS\ Directory for variable system files.
Please note that for the exampleto be viewed correctly, the example file and readme file MUST be in the directories shown above on drive M.
General Keys.
Palmtop Picasso may seem quite daunting to the inexperienced user due to the key combinations that are used, therefore time should be taken to learn the keys used. They are as follows:
Cursor keys Move in the direction shown on the key.
"Q"/"P"/"Z"/"M" Move diagonally.
Pressing SHIFT with the above will adjust the width of the selection box.
Pressing PSION with the above increases the movement (Toggling Caps Lock On/Off has the same effect).
TAB Toggles Cross Hairs.
SHIFT TAB Changes Cross Hair Colour (only if grey is present).
PSION TAB Select cursor type.
Space Bar Toggles the Status bar position.
SHIFT & Space Toggles movement type (fast/normal).
PSION & Space Access the Status bar (See Appendix B).
"<"/">" Increase/Decrease jump amount.
0,1,2 Change the graphics mode.
0,1,2,3 Change the text mode.
"C" Select which layer is affected (Only available when the Bitmap contains grey).
The following only apply when no drawing tools are selected:
Enter Set the pixels benath the cursor.
Delete Delete the pixels beneath the cursor.
SHIFT & Enter Paste the clipboard to the current position.
SHIFT & Delete Copy the highlighted area to the clipboard.
"B" Draw a simple box, using width & height of cursor.
The following generally apply when a drawing tool is selected:
Enter Submit to page.
SHIFT & Enter Finish tool.

If an error occurs that hasn't been anticipated, the picture that you are working on at the time will be saved as RIP.PIC ( memory permitting).

Appendix A - The Status Bar.
The Status Bar contains the following information, running from left to right:
X Coordinates Press Enter to change X coordinates
Y Coordinates Press Enter to change Y coordinates
Width Press Enter to change Width
Height Press Enter to change Height
Info window Press Enter for picture information
Stats windows Press Enter for picture statistics
Jump window
Pixel info
Movement Type
Sound Attachment Press Enter to attach/create, Delete to Unattach/Delete, Diamond to change volume
Memo Attachment Press Enter to attach/create, Delete to Unattach/Delete.
Time Details Press Enter for time details
Appendix B - Unfinished Files.
Please note that some of the files included with this program are not finished, I.E.
Default.PAT This is the default pattern file. A few patterns are missing
Help.SYS This is the help file. It's pretty useless at the moment.
*.FON These are extra fonts. Not all characters are present.
The finished versions of these files will be made available to registered users.
Appendix C - The Open Dialog
When using the open dialog, if you want a list of all the keywords, type a '*'.
In the open page line type the following:
'-1' Counts the number of pages in a file
'0' If the file has previously been saved using Palmtop Picasso, the file will load using the information held in the database, otherwise the first page will be loaded, unless you have used '-1' to count the pages first.
>'0' Load that particular page.
If you experiance problems when loading a file, it's probobly due to low memory.
