  3. The following comments have been overheard whilst G3IOR/M was travelling 
  4. around the UK on lecture schedules.
  5.  
  6. 1. A local QSO, interuppted by U2MIR's packet transmissions, were debating 
  7. the ".. funny noise on the frequency ..".  After concluding that it was due 
  8. to overhead power lines, I interjected and explained what and who it was.
  9. The reply was " .. You must think we were born yesterday, mate. Do you 
  10. think we are so thick as believe that radio amateurs are in space making 
  11. alien noises like that! ...".  Well, I tried.

  13. 2. A better one came from G7***, who, following the discussion on the 
  14. problems that Musa was experiencing due to being in range of virtually 
  15. all of Europe and some thousand or more packet stations simultaneously 
  16. calling, had a great idea. "Why doesn't he stop, work just those stations 
  17. in range, and then move on a few miles and get the next lot?  Altenatively, 
  18. he could come down to about a mile up, and so have far less QRM!".

  20. One can see the effects of the education cuts!
